Comments about Mountain Hardwear Refueler Shorts - Men's 7" Inseam:
Ok, I'm Joe Average guy. I don't run a billion miles a week and I don't have 2% body fat, more like 22%, but I run often (3 miles a day) and try to stay in shape. Most running shorts are pretty similar, so I judge them by: will I chafe? is there a usable pocket for an ID or key? and finally the real clincher, do they ride up my legs when I run. These have it all, great price, durable, great inner panty (like a boxer brief which I prefer over just the brief type) and they don't run up my legs when I run.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Refueler Shorts - Men's 7" Inseam:
I've used this product for the last month now in the gym and on the track several times, as well as on a short backpacking vacation in England, and can comfortably recommend this short for running, and endorse it all around.
For running, Range of motion is unrestricted, weight is extremely low, and the DWR coating effectivley protects the fabric even in monsoon conditions.
For backpacking, this short balls up smaller than most socks and is easy and nice to throw into a pack, as an extra short/swimsuit/sleeping shorts. Quickdry and DWR are both good, as is ventilation and support.
HOWEVER, for activities not Purely Running/Walking/Swimming, the fabric does seem like it will snag and rip, and not protect your legs if you were to say, Climb a tree. So keep that in mind.
Altogether though, its a great short.
It is made of a very comfortable polyester material with reasonable stretch, and possesses a number of very nice features not prominently mentioned in the description, such as a lightweight mesh support and a key pocket made of the same material inside of the short itself.
Heartily recommend grabbing when on sale.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Refueler Shorts - Men's 7" Inseam:
Nice shorts. I just don't know why so many shorts have to have the lame inner liner. Maybe it's just me, but I find it to be counter productive to short design. Liners don't provide necessary support during strenuous activities, and they make wearing boxer briefs uncomfortable,(not that it's comfortable to begin with). It's madness! REI needs to step up it's game and design new clothes made from hemp and wool. I have multiple ideas on how to improve modern clothing(which has if anything gotten more generic as time goes by). Shorts and pants are horribly restrictive and rather than try to improve designs, we need new designs entirely. Shoes, pants, shirts, all of it is in dire need of an update. It's like human civilization hasn't progressed in the past few hundred years, and we're stuck in this crazy society, just taking everything as how the world is. It kind of makes sense seeing as we don't even walk and move properly, that our clothing would be suited to rigid upright back and forth motion. I suppose fashion, and the idea of having to look like everyone else just furthers the problems. Anyway, good shorts, for being shorts, but in terms of clothing as an organism, humans are way off. Loincloths are gonna make a comeback. Who wouldn't wanna hit the trails barefoot wearing a loincloth? Sigh, not everyone thinks like me though. If REI would ever listen to me, I have ideas that would make people wearing 5fingers look normal compared to the clothes I would design haha. Imagine a tarzan meets jesus kind of look. King of the jungle meets king of men. We could all look like jungle men and then I wouldn't stand out so much. And Jane meets Mary for the ladies hahaha! Get these shorts, they're nice!
