Comments about CygoLite ExpiliOn 170 USB Bike Light:

This light is pretty bright (though nowhere near as bright as the newest 600+ lumen lights) with OK battery life, a great handlebar mount, and is waterproof and well made. Unfortunately the beam is very narrow, so I find that I'm not able to take advantage of the brightness very well. Why have such a bright light if you can only see directly in front of you? I found it wasn't adequate on trails or when on bike-only routes where I was frequently turning and relied solely on my own lighting. Still, a very good light -- you just have to be OK with a relatively narrow beam. Personally, I'll go back to a NiteRider MiNewt which has a much better light spread.

I've been using this light for about 5 months now. It's extremely bright, but has a comparatively low battery life. Most importantly, there is a minor design flaw -- the USB charging area is only covered by a small plastic cover which barely fits. Mine fell off after two weeks, and I had to use duct tape to cover it in the event of rain. Also, there is only one blink setting which is overall too bright; I've had drivers yell at me for using the blink setting.
