Mammut Element Barryvox Avalanche Transceiveris rated5.0out of5by1.
Rated5out of5byfromGreat transceiverI used to have older Pieps and Ortovox models and decided that I needed an upgrade now that the technology has improved so much. The features that set this apart from the other ones I looked at was the way it displayed direction, distance, and separate victims in the display and the feel in my hand. I found the display to be very similar to many of the other electronics I use in life and it was very intuitive for me to be able to follow what was on the screen. While practicing in the field I found it very easy to mark a beacon and move on to a second beacon rapidly. It is also very comfortable in my hand and easy to use while wearing the different types of gloves that I use. I have used it for a season and I am very happy that I chose this model. My only complaint is that the harness straps tend to come loose throughout the day when touring. I think that the harness shape and design are very comfortable and easy to use but the strap material needs to be improved to prevent slip. I also like how the harness is designed to protect the digital screen.
