Comments about Shimano M530 SPD Bike Pedals:

They seem easy to get into and out of and I like that the platform's don't spin as much as my other pedals which helps me get into them a lot easier. My only problem with the product is it was twice the price on REI than other reputable online retailers. I didn't have a choice where I shopped because of getting a E gift card, but I did attempt to try and trade it to friends/family so I could pick up 2 of the same pedals (PD-M530) from another site for the price of this one. All in all I wont shop with REI again because of their wack prices, but nothing wrong with the Shimano product I got from them.

Comments about Shimano M530 SPD Bike Pedals:

As a MTB trail rider, I was looking for a reliable, durable pedal with a good platform cage around it. So I did a little bit of research before hand, and narrowed my choices to either these or the 424's.
I went with these because I couldn't get over the idea of the plastic platform cages on the 424's.
I couldn't be happier with these, and I'm honestly surprised nobody has reviewed these pedals up until now.
These pedals offer excellent security, and an extremely reliable entry and exit (make sure you set proper tension first). The metal cages are more than capable of holding up to those times when your pedal just so happens to hit those hard places in the large rock gardens.
The platform does not extend much further than the width of the latch mechanism, so you don't have to worry about scraping them when you're flying through the berms.
Honestly, if you're looking for a great pedal and don't wanna break the bank, these are the ones to go with. Probably the best bang for the buck if you're looking for a good trail pedal with a platform.
