        I use these poles for downhill skiing.
        They take some time to adapt to the strap.
        Once you have the strap is secured to your gloves
        properly you're in good shape.
        The only problem I have is this question:
        Are my gloves and straps going to release
        in a fall.

          REI's website specs state that these poles are for women. On the Leki tag attached to the pole the gender stated is mens.
