Great bag. Exactly what I was looking for. Don't need to worry about melting snow in the bag since boots are on the outside. Much roomier than I thought.

Comments about Rossignol Roc Boot and Helmet Pack:

With our annual ski trip coming up, I decided I needed a bag to lug around my boots. For the past few years, I've been checking the skis, and lugging the boots on-board the plane, because let's all be real - you can rent adequate skis a whole lot easier than you can boots.

Anyway, I was tired of carrying the boots and wanted to free up my hands. I checked out a couple of bag options at my local REI, including the REI Evaporator bag, and ended up going with this one. I chose this one because with the boots on the outside, the main compartment of the bag offered a lot more space for my helmet, goggles, gloves, etc. In fact, I was even able to get my ski pants and jacket in the bag, which was super convenient.

There are only two minor drawbacks about this bag that I can see:

1) With the boots strapped in, it's a tough squeeze to get the bag into the overhead compartment on the plane. I could get it in on the way up, but on the flight home I had to remove a boot to get it in. Not a major issue, but worth noting.

2) The backpack straps seem to be for a smaller person. I'm a big guy, and I had to have the straps extended to the max to even be able to get my arms through. Additionally, even sliding the sternum strap to the lowest spot, it basically ran against my throat.

All in all, a great bag, and I'm happy I got it, but these two minor issues drop it from 5-star to 4-star.
