So far I have not taken this boot out on the trail but for daily use and running around the yard and shoveling snow it works very well. They are comfortable and the quick lace system works well and seems pretty stout. Its a good mid boot but does not offer the ankle support of a full height boot; just an FYI not a negative. The only negative is the adidas three stripes on the side are plastic. If they do not flex just right they will rub on your foot and need to be broken in so-to-speak. It only happened on my right foot not my left. If I were to design these boots I would have not used plastic for the lace guides and just used a synthetic leather or something.
Other than that its a great boot for the recreational hiker and backpacker like myself and I look forward to many miles this spring/summer/fall.
