      I always feel better having this on me for the just in case. Wet wading in high altitudes and camping in near or sub zero temperatures has potential dangers. Knowing I have this on me makes me feel better in case of an emergency.

      This blanket has a chemical odor to it

      I opened the package and the blanket had a terrible chemical odor to it. I have tested and am familiar with most emergency blankets and have never encountered this type of odor. It was so bad that I had to return it to the store. The REI staff member who helped me with the return (REI was fantastic about returns as they always are) was suprised at the odor also.

      I would love a response from an AMK medical kits rep here, or from anyone else, as to whether this odor dissipates after time?
