Been thinking about getting some VFFs for quite some time now, but never pulled the trigger. I recently began working out regularly and wanted to start running. After reading about the benefits of barefoot running, I decided that it was time to pull the trigger. The Komodo model seemed the most versatile so it was an easy choice. I also think this model looks great!
Being my first pair it took a long time to get my piggies into there respective sections, but once I did, the feel was amazing. It's like being barefoot, but with just a touch of armor. Wearing them home from the store, I quickly realized that going back to normal shoes would be next to impossible.
On to their performance. Been using these for street running primarily. After a couple miles I did notice a hot spot on the inside edge of my foot just behind the ball of the foot. this happened on both sides. I believe this is just a problem with my foot being to dainty and not used to running on the front of my foot, so I'm not blaming the shoes for that. Otherwise I love the feel of hitting the road in these. Calve workout from hell! I can't wait to hit a trail with these.
All in all, I can see myself rarely taking these off... ever!!!

I've had my KomodoSport LS FiveFingers for three weeks now. In a nutshell, I couldn't be happier. Since I first discovered FiveFingers, I've avoided buying a pair because I was afraid the non-classic models would not fit my high arches well enough. I've had numerous pairs of shoes over my lifetime that have been brutal on the tops of my feet because of my high arches, and I wasn't about to spend $100 for that to happen again. I also avoided the classic model because I wanted a more versatile shoe. From what I've read, the classic is primarily for walking, running and very casual sports.
Well, along came the Komodosport LS, made specifically for those with high arches and wide feet, and I made the plunge. I have no discomfort on the tops of my feet due to the flexibility where the laces are, and they are relatively easy to take off and put on, also issues I've had with other shoes over the years. As for the performance of the shoe, similar to the rave reviews for the Komodosport model (non-LS), I feel that this model is the most versatile, durable and in my opinion, attractive model among the FiveFingers options.
Great stuff and I can't wait to see what these shoes will do for my health, strength and flexibility.

Purchased a pair of the FiveFingers after months of seeing them at CrossFit. I have worn the Minimus so my legs had already adjusted to this type of shoe. I purchased one pair but they were just too small so had to move up a size. Once I got the size dialed in I feel in love. They are great for CrossFit, walking, running, and as a camp shoe. I just returned from a backpacking trip where I wore these everywhere around camp and fishing instead of my boots. They are comfortable, durable, and have a great feel of the terrain. Great shoe!

Great design with nice styling, but more importantly, high functionality features.
The lace arrangement is very nice and provides adjustable security easily without the possibly pinching of the velcro strap as on the KSO Flex.
Very attractive with fluorescent markings for visibility. Tread is great traction for scrabbling or just rock hopping.

After owning a pair of the KSO's, the Komodo Sports are a breath of fresh air. I loved my KSO's but they wore out way too fast and didn't provide much in the protection or looks department. These FiveFingers have a good overall build to them and are as comfortable as you could possibly imagine. Buy them! You won't regret it

Wow, these felt like I had springs on the bottom of my feet and butane in my veins. They are incredibly lightweight, offer great arch support (I have really high arches), and force your feet to run the way you were designed to.

Feels great. The KomodoSport LS are the most comfortable FiveFingers I've had. It's a little roomier than the same size (40) Smartwool Classics I had. My toes felt a bit scrunched up in those. These fit like a glove. Tried the FiveFingers Speed but it felt like I had a pebble in the shoe as the seams at the front of the toe pockets caused blisters on my toes. They were painful to run in so I returned them for the Komodosport LS. These are silky smooth. Great pair of of shoes. Styling is questionable, however. Prefer the looks of the speeds or the minimalism of the smartwool classics. Appearance can be overlooked as they feel so good on the feet.
Service and delivery comments:
Great service. Was at the store trying on several pairs of FiveFingers Speeds after I'd previously returned a pair for defective seams in the toe pockets. The staff was very accommodating. I could not find one without the seams lumped up at the toes though. I tried these on and they were way more comfortable than of the Speeds I tried.

I bought these for light weight traveling options. I now run in them. They are so comfortable, I don't want to wear regular shoes. The first pair had some of the decorative 'lacing' come off on the sides of the shoes and the toes. REI replaced them without question. This occurred after washing them. The current pair has not had the same problem. 4 star is only because of the issue with the decorative lacing.
