When I first got this knife, I thought it was great. It opened easily with one hand and was lightening fast. Blade was sharp and could take some abuse. I liked that the pocket clip could be moved from one side to the other.

Not long after I started using the knife, the clip started showing it's poor design. It moves from side to side and is not sturdy. In fact, I broke two from just normal use. Good thing is, SOG sent me replacements free. In fact, they sent two at once. I have a feeling they know the clip is junk.

A couple years after having the knife and carrying it daily, the knife started to not open fully. I have taken care of it per the care instructions posted on the SOG site. Now, the knife is locked open. It will not close. I have not sent it in for repair yet and not sure I will because at this point I'll likely have to pay for it. I'd rather use that money for a better knife.

This is a great knife! The assisted open mechanism is fast and consistent. The lock release is well placed and intuitive. I also really appreciate the safety, though when loaning it to a friend they often can't figure out how to open it.

I purchased this knife for search and rescue, needing a lightweight but dependable blade that would open quickly and clip securely into a pocket in my pack. This was the perfect answer. I actually lost my first one during training and bought a replacement immediately.

I also like that they are local, out of Lynnwood, Wa.

Another solid knife from SOG. The Flash II is a great knife. I use this as my EDC (every day carry) knife. Razor sharp out of the box. The SAT makes it very easy to open. The safety switch holds very tight so you don't have to worry about accidental deployment while is in your pocket. The pocket clip is great, holds strong and deep in pocket.
