The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated5out of5byThe Swamp FoxfromComfort and Support with Utility and ConfidenceThis climbing harness is an excellent harness for beginners and experienced climbers alike. It is reasonably priced, so it won't break the bank, but it is wicked comfortable and everything is easily adjustable. My climbing club at college has sets of these, and I personally have owned one for about 4 months now, climbing once a week. You will be comfortable all day wearing this harness, and there are plenty of gear loops to carry your equipment with you. You'll never run out of space for quickdraws, belays, or chalk (there's a convenient loop on the center of the back especially for chalk bags), and everything will be at your fingertips. It also does not hold smell very long, so as long as you air it out before storing it after a climb, it'll stay nice and clean. Several friends have tried them and wanted their own. The fully adjustable fit gives you good confidence that the harness will stay in place and support you well while belaying or rappelling.

Rated5out of5byBrandonmillerfromGreat first harnessThis is my first harness ever. I didn't have much experience with different harnesses other than the rentals at my local gym. I tried this on and it felt great. I'm very picky about how the legs fit. On this harness the leg straps are very comfortable and do not slide around. I've mostly used this in the gym. However, I took it on my first outdoor climb this past weekend. Very comfortable for periods of long wear.

Rated4out of5bycougfromCAUTION ON SIZING AND OTHERS' REVIEWS!!!I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE HARNESS. IT APPEARS TO BE A GOOD PIECE OF KIT. THE PROBLEM DEALS WITH MANY INDIVIDUALS' SIZING SUGGESTIONS. I READ MANY SUGGESTIONS STATING THAT IF YOU ARE APPROX. 175# AND UNDER 6' TALL, YOU'LL BE BETTER OFF WITH THE MEDIUM. MANY STATED THAT A LARGE WAS WAY TOO BIG FOR THEM. THIS TURNED OUT TO BE JUST THE OPPOSITE FOR ME. THESE HARNESSES APPEAR TO RUN TRUE TO SIZE UNLIKE MANY HAVE STATED. A MEDIUM FOR ME WAS WAY SMALL TO THE POINT I HAVE TO RETURN IT FOR A LARGE. I WEIGH 175#. I HAVE A FLAT STOMACH. I AM 5'9". THE MEDIUM DOESN'T CUT IT. HEED BLACK DIAMOND'S SIZING CHART. THEY ARE ACCURATE. CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING IF YOU GET TOO SMALL A HARNESS: THEIR WILL NOT BE A SAFE AMOUNT TAIL LEFT (3 INCHES) AFTER RUNNING THE END OF THE BELT BACK THROUGH THE BUCKLE. THE PADDED PORTION OF THE WAIST BELT WILL BE BEHIND YOUR LEFT HIP AND THEREFORE NEGATE HAVING A PADDED WAIST BELT ON YOUR HIP. THE GEAR LOOPS ON THE LEFT SIDE WILL BE ROTATED TO THE REAR AND NOT ON THE SIDE WHERE THEY SHOULD BE. THE HAUL LOOP WILL NOT BE CENTERED ON YOUR BACK BUT INSTEAD OVER YOUR RIGHT BUTTOCK. THIS MAKES HANGING A CHALK BAG IN THE CENTER OF YOUR BACK IMPOSSIBLE. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.....

Rated4out of5byBurrilliantfromGreat valueGreat harness for the price. Can't attest to the durability yet, but it's comfortable to wear for extended periods in a climbing gym and does the job for an extremely reasonable price. If you're just starting out or strapped for cash, this is the harness for you!

Rated4out of5byJumpmanfromCan't complain muchThis was my first harness and I have had it for 2 years now and I can't really complain about it. I love the look and feel of it. I climbed a 5-pitch wall with it and started getting sore on the way down, but I'm not sure which harness wouldn't do that to you. Not having to double back the strap is nice, but I wish I would have gotten a medium instead of a large. I'm a 34 waist, but when I wear the harness above my hips, I can barely cinch the belt up enough. However, this does make it easier to get on and off.

Rated5out of5byrtoris288fromGreat HarnessI recently joined a rock climbing gym and got this harness to top rope with. I think this harness fits very well and is very easy to put on and adjust. The sides also allow for a number of carabineers and/or belay devices to be stored on it as well. All in all, I really have nothing bad to say about this harness!

Rated4out of5byclimber bryanfromGreat HarnessAt my first visit to REI, one of my friends suggested to me to buy my own harness. We found the Momentum. It was reasonably priced (45 after tax) so I decided to go with it. I had no previous knowledge of climbing equipment. I used this harness A LOT this past summer. I used it for belay, rappel, zip line, high ropes, and climbing walls. It performed great! I liked the gear loops a lot. I found that they were useful for things like a radio, water bottle, keys, and other gear. The harness was comfortable if I fell from the high ropes(a fall of about 3-4 feet) or the climbing wall(3-4 feet) or even from the zip line. Very sturdy harness. I didn't get sweaty or anything even after belaying for 3-4 hours. I'm 6'4" and average build, and the large size harness fit me very comfortably.VERY GOOD BUY!

Rated4out of5byBecquerelfromGreat for sport and all-around useThis is a great value for the money. Excellent harness for indoor and sport climbing. I like the speed adjust buckle, makes getting in and out much faster and easier.
Cannot really comment on durability since it was purchased just few months ago, but I dragged it through some chimneys, so far without problems.
It doesn't feel very comfortable to me when sitting in it for longer periods of time (on hanging belays), so I would not really recommend this for big walls
It's light and compact enough that it would probably work for mountaineering, but I prefer my BD Couloir there.
If you're tight on budget, this is a very good all-arounder, but not only that. It is my first choice for indoor and weekends at the local crags
