The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Ocean Kayak Malibu Two XL Sit-On-Top Kayak:
My wife and I went on kayak camping trip and it worked great to just load up our backpacks into garbage bags and set them in the middle and between our legs.
The kayak even felt more stable with the added weight.
Having the bungee cords works great for smaller items like sleeping pads and tents.
An excellent addition to our outdoor adventures.

Comments about Ocean Kayak Malibu Two XL Sit-On-Top Kayak:
The large capacity of this practical tandem sit-on-top sets it apart from the field. Despite the size, it is maneuverable, not too heavy, and tracks well.
CAPACITY:
It has room for 2 adults, plus 1 or 2 kids. Above 400lbs, the front paddler may have a wet ride without the use of plugs.
The rear elastic band can hold down soft items, but it isn't a level surface for anything large. Hatches can be installed by cutting holes in the molded hatch locations.
HANDLING:
I didn't have trouble maneuvering the kayak with 1 or 2 paddlers. Easy to turn. Speeds can reach up to 4mph with both people paddling hard. Cruising speed is probably 3.0 to 3.5 mph depending on how heavily it is loaded.
It also tracked well with one or two paddlers. The extra length allows 2 people can paddle without banging paddles. When paddling alone, the seat can be placed over the middle sitting surface.
At 33" wide, it is quite stable. You really have to try to flip it over. Like any sit-on-top, if it does flip, just flip it back and you are back in business.
QUALITY & DURABILITY:
It's as durable as the best plastic kayaks out there. Which is to say it can scrape onto rocks or be dropped without structural damage, but it is not indestructible.
When car topping, align scupper holes (stronger region) over the racks. Otherwise it can cave in, but it can be corrected.
The center bottom line (keel) survived being dragged over rocks well, with only cosmetic marks. After a rain storm, I did notice some water inside the shell, but there is a drain plug to release that water.
COMFORT AND LOADING:
The two seats makes paddling for hours comfortable, at least for those on the seats. Plenty of space to keep food and drinks in reach.
At 61 lbs and being big and wide, it is difficult for for even a strong person to car top alone. Someone with good upper body strength can carry it around, but 2 people or a cart is generally recommended for portages.
Tandem sit-on-top kayaks are generally heavy, and this may be one of the lighter ones.
USES:
I've used it on down river runs, flats, fishing, waves up to 2 feet, alone or with 3 people. It has handled each role well, or as well as any sit-on-top tandem can hope for.
Don't expect 4+mph speeds of narrow kayaks, or turn on a dime capabilities white water kayaks. It will handle as well as most recreational kayaks, and is stable enough for kids or fishing.
