Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Women's:
Love this jacket, very comfortable. I was going to purchase a North Face but decided to go with the less expensive and fell in love with it. I will now purchase more REI brands.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Women's:
I just got this and am very pleased with the look and fit of the jacket, as well as the matching pants. The styling is flattering. It's form-fitting but I like it that way, as it is warmer and will fit under a rain shell nicely too. The feel is plush, almost like velveteen. I will wear it walking the dog, hiking, and other outside activities. Just what I hoped for.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Women's:
Wow - I layered up like I usually do with fleece and was roasting! The liner is, I think, what makes the fleece so nicely wind proof and cozy warm.
This is a close-fitting jacket. I'm 5'6" and 150 lbs, and the medium fits well but it is form-fitting, so get. Larger size if you like looser fits. The blue is marvelously intense, really bold and vibrant.
I use this on its own down to about 55F for walking the dog, else use it as a layer under a waterproof for 32-45F. I don't use it in the 45-55F temp range.
Really nice fleece for a good price (I got it half off on sale).

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Women's:
I bought the vest-version of this jack last year and was in Love with it so I decided to try the full jacket, and I was not disappointed. I do not like thick fleece and this is a perfect solution. It's lightweight and versatile enough to wear with a long sleeve shirt for light cold or put a heavier jacket/shell over for really cold. Have also worn it by itself in very cold, windy conditions and have been toasty warm. Looks great and doesn't stain easily; I've even worn it to help cut Christmas Trees and it does pretty well with sap and pitch!

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Women's:
I could see in the photo this was form fitting, but thought it would still be OK as I was hoping for something not too boxy. But the jacket fits so close one would not be able to comfortably wear a sweater under it. Am not fat, am just not skinny. Also, the front is maddeningly short; the back is a good length. The inside is mesh, not fleece and overall the coat seems stiff. Oh well, back it goes!

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Women's:
I absolutely love this jacket! I first tried the North Face windwall but the fit was terrible. Of course the REI brand comes through and at a much better price! In chilly Seattle this fleece keeps me comfortable down to about upper 30s/low 40s. I wore it a couple days ago for a jog when it was 30 degrees and snowy with just a base layer underneath and it was perfect. Cinched it up a bit around the bottom and cuffs and it blocked the wind perfectly to keep me warm yet was still breathable. I also love that it's a little longer in the back to keep you covered up while active. The fit is attractive and flattering enough that I love wearing it to work and around town. My only problem with it is resisting the temptation to buy one in every color!
Note - it does run a little smaller than many REI tops. The REI brand runs large but this is more true to size. I'm 5'9" and 150 lb and a medium fits perfectly.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Women's:
I am so happy to have found a windproof fleece jacket. I'd had a Gore WindStopper fleece for years, and lost it. I'd almost despaired of finding a replacement. Polartec WindPro just doesn't do the same job, and The North Face Windwall fits me strangely. Soft shells just don't have the same level of comfort.
Finally, I found this REI fleece. It does a great job as a windbreaker. I've worn it comfortably in temperatures from about 35F-65F. It's no raincoat, of course, but it'll repel water in a light drizzle, and dries quickly. The cut is nice (fit is true to size -- I'm 5'7", 130 lbs, and medium is perfect). I love the "raddichio" color.
My only complaint is the velcro sleeve closures: they are a bit stiff and bulky if you cinch them in. But that's a pretty minor flaw in my eyes.
