Comments about REI Alpine Lakes Rain Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:

Had an older version of this pant and loved the fit and function. First pair lasted me over ten years!! I was ecstatic to find that REI still had a similar pant available. Wouldn't hesitate to purchase again.

Comments about REI Alpine Lakes Rain Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:

Bought these for a mushing trip, and they're going back. I liked the fit and features, especially the zip and snap fly for, well, you know, but they would not stay closed when I unzipped the legs from the top for ventilation- the velcro closures were too small to keep the pants closed, and I had to keep them zipped to the top to keep them on. With better velcro they'd be a winner.

Comments about REI Alpine Lakes Rain Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:

So I just started using these last week. So the bad stuff first:

-The velcro waist band adjustments really don't work that well. They constantly break loose (hook separating from the loop). There are no belt loops, so as mentioned in another review, a set of suspenders are mandatory.

          Now the good news:

-These are the most comfortable rain pants I've ever worn. I never overheat in them and the feel really natural even over pants.

          -They pack down pretty small

          -They are Quiet!

These are my initial impressions after about a week of daily use.

Comments about REI Alpine Lakes Rain Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:

Recently purchased these pants and am very pleased with them. Totally waterproof so far after hiking a full 12 miles in miserable downpoor around the Olympic Rainforest.
Better quality than the REI Ultralight Pants (although they are thicker ie heavier). Worth every penny for something you can count on. My wife loves them also.
My only very small issue is that I wish they had belt loops but suspenders will work fine if need be.
Very good quality zippers on everything also.
