Comments about REI Recycled Polyester Liner Socks:

I have worn REI liner socks for 20+ years, and the current model for a couple of years. I had noticed that I had severe ankle chafing, and was even wearing duct tape around my ankles to cope. Meanwhile, REI's liner socks now all have a tall cuff with a tight band rather than a ribbed cuff. They are 1.5 inches taller than my thorlo women's socks. I wear tall boots, but these socks force me to fold them down otherwise the band hits me in the calf. I finally cut most of the band off and finished the edge with my serger. Problem solved, no chafing. I have met other women with the same problem. If the socks must have a tight band at the top, they should come in different heights.
