Comments about GT Transeo 3.0 Disc Bike - 2011:
Best fit for this gem is trail biking, but street riding is no shame for this bike either. Once I figured out that I don't want either a mountain bike, or street bike, a trail bike seemed the best fit for me. Looked arround and what sorted down to a Specialized Crosstrail and the GT Transeo was the disc brakes and the lockout fork with more than 50mm travel. The cost on Specialized was a killer, so I was left down to GT Transeo 2.0 versus 3.0. Is true that the 2.0 had a smoother gear shifting, but the 50mm travel fork seemed week for me, for a trail bike, so I gave it up (REI doesn't sell that one, need to look at other retailers). The test ride and the 15% discount was a winner for me, and I am using it a lot on street and trails arround the town. Not to forget, the tires are excellent for both street and trail riding, seat is comfortable (don't need to change it), just the grips I might get me a different set. Overall great ballanced bike, with a solid feeling over bumps, and quite speedy on road.

Comments about GT Transeo 3.0 Disc Bike - 2011:
Use it everyday. I commute through a little road, some path & some down right muck you'd be hesitant to approach. And I got it for 20% off! Believe me, you can't go wrong at this price point. I added some fenders (axiom rain runners) which caused a great deal of head scratching due to the total lack of instructions, but I got through it. Check it out. GT did a great job on the disc 3.0! (I looked at the more expensive Specialized as a comparison.)
