The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about CamelBak Antidote Reservoir - 70 fl. oz.:
I really wanted to like them. I've owned Camelbaks in the past. Love the idea of detachable hose and baffle to keep the bulk down. Everything seemed well made. But then I noticed a pool of water at the bottom of my pack the second time out hiking. Couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I filled it with water and squeezed it but couldn't find a leak. I went out again and there was water around the cap and water around the valve. Figured I had a defective one so exchanged it for another. The next one leaked around the valve on my next hike. Also noticed the valve leaking when I squeezed it. Thought, well, I'll give it one more shot and exchange for a third since I liked the design so much. This time it leaked around the cap as soon as I filled it. I'm moving on and trying another brand. Sorry Camelbak. Thanks REI for you return policy.

Comments about CamelBak Antidote Reservoir - 70 fl. oz.:
How I use it: in our Deuter Kid Comfort II child carrier, and in my daypack. The tube is a nice length for these.
Filling: nice wide mouth, easy to fill with water and ice
In use: the bite valve works well (as most bite valves do) and seals tightly. There's an additional valve in the "head" that's useful for transport if you leave the hose attached. It tends to get compressed in the child carrier due to the weight of our son, and I haven't noticed any leaking. The detachable hose is really nice for transport and storing the bladder in the fridge before heading out.
Initially, there were a few times that I cross-threaded the top and it didn't seal properly, but I caught it immediately. It leaks like a sieve if you don't get the top on straight.
Cleaning: the wide mouth makes it easy to get my hand all the way inside if I need to. I don't put sticky things in my bladders, but I imagine if I did the quick release might be a little tricky to get totally clean. The little flip out arms for drying are a nice addition to hold it open, since the internal baffle makes the use of the CamelBak drying hanger difficult.
Summary: it works well, doesn't leak, is easy to clean/fill, and has a few unique features (quick disconnect hose, drying arms) that aren't strictly necessary but are nice additions. The lid isn't difficult to operate, but you should pay attention to make sure it's on correctly.

Comments about CamelBak Antidote Reservoir - 70 fl. oz.:
I ran into a bit of leaking with my antidote like many of you have noted. The fantastic thing about CamelBak products is the guarantee. Call customer service and they will replace the part causing you issues. I love CamelBak products but a huge reason I use their stuff is the service. I always get issues address right away. I have bottles from years ago; I get the bite valve replaced and keep the bottles. I am happy to say that my antidote no longer leaks since I got my replacement piece!

Comments about CamelBak Antidote Reservoir - 70 fl. oz.:
I loved this bladder - to bad is wasn't more durable. The quick release hose and the lock on the mouthpiece were great as was the big opening with a handle. I also liked the baffle that really cut back on shifting. Unfortunately the hard sharp edge around the opening (inside the bladder) wore a pinpoint hole that leaked after three uses. Softening or rounding this edge could solve this problem. Maybe a future version will address this.
Service and delivery comments:
Fast and friendly service as always.

Comments about CamelBak Antidote Reservoir - 70 fl. oz.:
The flatter concept of this water bladder is great. It gives you more room in your pack. However, placing a "quick" disconnect valve at the bottom of the bladder may not have been such a great idea because the pressure on the bladder causes the valve to leak. Recently, in just two hours, the bottom of my pack, including my sleeping bag, was soaked.

Comments about CamelBak Antidote Reservoir - 70 fl. oz.:
I love the new design but when I used it for one of my hiking trips I noticed that the bottom of my pack was wet. I inspected the badder but there were no visible signs of a leak, then I tried to squeeze it a little bit and then there it was, the leak was coming from the new quick disconnect system for the hose and the bladder. Camelbak should revise the design for the quick disconnect.

(not sure why my choices for self description are limited to cycling. I am an avid one, but my use for this product was hiking/backpacking - review applies for many uses)
First off, I want to say that I've never had a problem with camelback reservoirs before, and will assume what happened with my new 70 Antidote was an anomaly unique to the one I purchased.
Everything about the new design is excellent, and improvement over the old ones. In fact I didn't really need a new one, but I wanted to reduce weight for backpacking, and my 100oz res doesn't fit ideally in my new backpack as well. I like the new low profile (flatter), quick open or "seal" design, and especially the tube disconnect.
Here's the issue (and why "seal" is in quotes): When the res is full, and under no pressure, no problems. But, when I compress my backpack when the res has over a liter (> 50% full), it leaks around the fill area. I'm not sure if this is a design problem - that the new 1/4 turn seal can't handle significantly additional pressure (I compress to the max for balance) OR just the one I got. Sooo.... I will exchange for another one, and retest.
In the meantime, I'll assume it was just the one I got, and for now give 3 stars. If the next one doesn't fail, I'll go to 5 stars. If it fails, it goes down to two (a decent product with limitations).

Comments about CamelBak Antidote Reservoir - 70 fl. oz.:
After trying a couple different brands, including Platypus, this is the reservoir I'm gonna drink from while trail running, backpacking, and completing military training.
The valve shut-off is much more secure than my Platypus, which dumped 2 liters all over the back of my Jeep because it came unlocked. The cap is easier to work than the zip on the Platypus, and the piece below the cap provides an excellent filling handle. Detachable hose is easy to get on and off, and the bite valve works flawlessly. The drying arms are a nice feature, as is the center baffle, which really does keep the water from sloshing around, even on dynamic, rocky trail runs.
Nice to see innovation that works.

Comments about CamelBak Antidote Reservoir - 70 fl. oz.:
I Love to kayak every week year round and my trips range 6-24 miles in a day. Summers in Austin are really hot (like 100+ degrees) so I have 2 reservoirs. I fill one with water and freeze it and fill the other with ice water. That way I can easily interchange them in my Camelbak on my trips. Some days there's lots of wind and wave and I cannot afford to put my paddle down to drink, but I can usually grab the valve with my mouth and drink all I need or at least flick it up with my thumb... and it never leaks. Don't know how I would make it without these amazing little reservoirs!!
