Comments about Garmont Zenith Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
Brought these to Switzerland and they were great!
Good fit and stayed warm and dry with a medium warm sock. Top of the boot hugs and is hard to get used to but its nice. This is my first time using this brand and am not disappointed, we'll see after a year how they do
Overall great product.

Comments about Garmont Zenith Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
These boots are very comfortable and have great support. I first tried on a pair of Merrells, that while comfortable, seemed way too "mushy" and didn't feel very durable. These Garmonts are the exact opposite. They also keep my feet from slipping forward when walking downhill, and the toe box is more square than pointed or round, so my toes are not crushed.

Comments about Garmont Zenith Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
The boots seemed well made and was comfortable for about 2 hours. After about two hours, I experienced heal pain and after a full day my feet was tender and hurt for days. I know someone else that has these boots and his experience is very different. If thinks they are the best boots he has owned. I returned these for Lowa Renegade II GTX Mid Hiking Boots. These are a better fit for me and no issues thus far.

For long hiking weekends in the Berkshires then the Catskills, these boots were perfect. So light and need no breaking in. My more experienced hiking partners were impressed. And they look great. REI sales guy made a terrific suggestion.

Comments about Garmont Zenith Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
Bought these boots at the start of the hiking season to train for my first Mt. Whitney assent in July. This boot made it to the top of the 2nd and 3rd tallest mountain in Southern California (San Jacinto and Baldy), The 1st and 3rd tallest peak in California (Mt. Whitney (tallest in 48 states) and White Mt.), and all the training hikes in between.
This equates to over 150 trail miles and as a result they started to show signs of wear. I called the company and had a great experience and they stand 100% behind their product!
Will buy this boot again!

Comments about Garmont Zenith Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
After a couple of tries I thought I had found the boot for me. They are comfortable, not too expensive, Lightweight and Gore-Tex!
But, alas, after a few hikes in the rain with slightly damp toes and then one step in a puddle, not exceeding the limits of the boot, and a soaked foot later I was forced to continue my search.
It wasn't cool to find out in the middle of a trip that my shoes weren't waterproof enough to even deem them resistant to the elements, :(
I do think these are amazing boots otherwise. Cheers!

Comments about Garmont Zenith Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
These are great boots. They fit well right from the get-go. They do slip on wet rocks, but I avoid wet rocks anyway. They also make my feet sweat. Get a good pair of wicking socks like Smartwool if you have a sweat problem. Otherwise these are great for hiking, scrambling and wet conditions. Not insulated so good for moderate to warm conditions.

Comments about Garmont Zenith Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
Great boot in the beginning, very comfortable, lightweight, feet did not overheat and held footing well on dry rocks. I used the boot to hike several of the 4000 footers in the Whites, Mt Monadnock several times and many smaller mountains since buying the boots about 12 months ago. I estimate a couple hundred miles on the boots. But, not the sole has gotten so that the boots don't hold my footing even on dry rocks. Plenty of tread left the boots just tend slip. I've lost my confidence in using the boots on any rocky area.
I don't recommend for anyone who expects to get more than a couple hundred miles out of a pair of boots.

Comments about Garmont Zenith Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
I bought these boots for backpacking the appalachian trail. I wanted something light enough to be a good hiking boot, and sturdy enouhg to handle backpacking with a 40 pound pack. These fit the bill. They fit extremely well out of the box. I woke them for a day and a half before my hike to break them in and I had zero blisters on the trail after hiking 6 miles in the rain and 9 miles the day after.
They dry quickly, are comfy, still have plenty of support in the ankle. They are; however, a bit slick on wet rocks. I knew this going into the hike and was cautious. Honestly, they fit so well, I'm ok with the traction issues and ZERO hot spots.

Comments about Garmont Zenith Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
I got these boots for a three week backpacking trip in Patagonia. The weather was very unpredictable and it would go from sunshine to rain in under 20 minutes. These boots were able to stand up to everything the trail threw at me. The waterproofing works very well, it was only when my sock got saturated that the inside of my boot got wet. However they dry out very quickly, even when it is raining all night with temperatures in the mid to low 30's, the insides will be bone dry when you have to put them on again in the morning. They have a very solid construction but do take some breaking in, so keep that in mind.
