The Raleigh Lil' Push bike offers intuitive use and plenty of fun for little kids from 2-5 years old, helping them learn the fundamentals of bike riding and balance.

  • Without pedals or training wheels, the bike is "pushed" along by walking; as your child develops their handling skills, they can coast further with their feet off the ground
  • If an obstacle presents itself or they wants to slow down, all your child has to do is put his or her feet down to slow up or stop
  • Tough aluminum frame and 12 in. wheels stand up to heavy use to keep 'em rolling along
  • Large, supportive saddle on the Raleigh Lil' Push keeps their rear end comfortable while handlebar provides easy steering
  • Specs are subject to change

Comments about Raleigh Lil' Push Bike - Kids':

My son has been using this for four months now. He started on it when he was just 20 months old. At that age, he was still a little too short for the bike so we had a little less than an inch sawed off the bottom of the seat post--as another reviewer noted REI had recommended to them.

We helped our son balance the first two times out on the bike. The third time, he insisted that Mommy not hold onto anything. Miraculously, he just scooted along, often striding out without feet on the ground for two or three seconds. By the fourth time, he was holding his legs up as he glided along.

I'm so glad we went with the Raleigh Lil' Push--my son has been able to take his bike on sidewalks as well as dirt trails and we love the versatility and ease with which it glides over any surface.

I would buy this bike again in an instant. Even though we lost a little flexibility for growth by sawing off the little bit to make the bike work initially, I doubt we will miss it. My son has already started requesting a bike with pedals! I'm sure, however, he will remain entertained and challenged by this one for at least another year... Either way, it's already been worth every penny just in the first four months.

Comments about Raleigh Lil' Push Bike - Kids':

This is a great little balance bike, but the seat can't adjust down small enough for a taller than average 2 year old. The REI bike staff suggested sawing off the post, though that would impact being able to raise it enough as our child grows.

Comments about Raleigh Lil' Push Bike - Kids':

        Purchased this for my daughter's 3rd B-Day.

        PRO:
Excellent build quality, and geometry for the age/weights that it is intended for. She took to it incredibly quickly, so know that you are purchasing an item that provides results. A took a while to get her to ride it, but within 3 months of riding, she was ready for a peddle bike, sans-training wheels.

        CON:
The item is a little pricey, considering it is out grown so quickly. The life/usefulness of the bike may be extended by installing a back brake. But, being there are no mounts, you will have to MacGyver on. My daughter got so comfortable whizzing down hills, her speed out-grew her braking ability.

All-in-all, a great product. I would purchase again, and it is definitely recommended.

My 2 year 10 month old son learned to balance himself the first day and now he easily keeps up with his much older cousins on their bikes at the park!

Comments about Raleigh Lil' Push Bike - Kids':

This bike was everything I hoped for. I wanted to skip training wheels because they are dangerous going down hills and turning. Also, the transition to a peddle bike without trainers is much faster. My son is almost 3 and the only regret I have is that I didn't start him earlier on it. Very well built, fat tires are great for stability and he says it's comfortable even on longer trips around the neighborhood. Within a week he was cruising around with feet up going down hills and using his feet really well to stop. I considered one with brakes but glad I got this one because they would have hand brakes. His next bike will have peddle brakes so it'll be an easier transition. That's right, quickly outgrown is a pro! After all, that's why I trained him on a push bike, so he learns fast!
