Comments about The North Face Venture Rain Jacket - Men's:
I use the jacket for crummy and unpredictable weather while on the trail, and in town. It does everything really well that it's advertised to do like breathe well, block out water, and stuffs small. It's also super light. The price is unbeatable for the Venture Jacket's functionality and durability too.

Comments about The North Face Venture Rain Jacket - Men's:
Compared this jacket to a higher priced Goretex and eVent jacket, and for the price, performance, and features, this is a better choice for me. It keeps out the rain and wind. It fits well alone or with two layers and a Polartec 300 jacket.
I have owned it for 2 years now, and it's been to 3 countries, up to 2100 meters, on glaciers and snow peaks, heavy rain, constant misting drizzle, hail, you name it.
It packs down small into the pocket pouch, pretty sturdy scrambling over boulder fields and scree, hood fits over my helmet, pockets hold a camera and gloves.
Have really nothing bad to say about this jacket. Pretty confident if it was lost or destroyed I would replace it with the same.

I still can't get over how well this jacket breathes and how rapidly it dries.

Comments about The North Face Venture Rain Jacket - Men's:
Great length, the hood can be fitted so that when you turn your head, the hood moves too. But, the material gets wet in a real rain storm for anything more than a quick run in from the car to the grocery. Water repellent is fine, but the jacket itself gets wet. In a downpour on a hike, if you expect to stay BONE dry, try another jacket. If you will be out for less than 30 min, give it a try, great price

Comments about The North Face Venture Rain Jacket - Men's:
I coach and in addition to using this jacket in the rain, it's great for windy days too. Very light-weight, which makes it great for warmer days when you don't need much on. Great for the cold to wear a few layers under. Also really warm and keeps your body heat inside the jacket.
Used it hiking in Alaska last summer and all I needed was a long sleeve shirt and this jacket. Fits perfectly in the side pocket of my day-pack, easy to grab and put on.
Great product, very pleased with North Face.

Comments about The North Face Venture Rain Jacket - Men's:
I have bought this to replace TNF insulated HyVent shell which surved me well for about 10 years and took a lot of beating but was a bit on a heavy side. The venture jacket is cheap and light weight that's about all I can say about it. It does work well in a light rain but don't expect it to keep you dry in the storm. There are two major problems with it. First not all the seams are sealed, if you look closely, you'll find that the seams near the bottom (draw string closure) are NOT sealed. This means the bottom of the jacket leaks and soaks up water (the same can be said about the cuffs). To make things worst, the fit is very short. In practice this means that whatever layer you have under the jacket will come in contact with the bottom draw string closure and WILL get soaked as well.

Comments about The North Face Venture Rain Jacket - Men's:
I purchased this jacket for all around rain wear. i walk my dog at least 5 miles a day and needed something to just throw on when needed. I find the fit to be snug with little room for a sweater underneath but the biggest problem is the hood. In even the slightest breeze it's useless. Instead of an traditional draw string they use a cord that loops around the top of the hood and is adjusted in the back. I always wear a Marmot water proof hat due to my baldness and eyeglasses and when you try to tighten it the hood pulls up and back over the hat/head. With the recent hurricane in the northeast and heavy rains today I find myself very disappointed that i can't keep the hood on. Definately a design problem. A traditional drawstring and a little more body room would make this a good choice, just for the record I ordered a large. I'm 5'10",158 pounds and trim.

This is a great piece of rain gear. I used it the other day for the first time in the rain and not a drop got in. Perfect lightweight top to keep in your pack for a hike\backpacking trip. North Face knows what they are doing.

My first North Face. This is not going to be a wear around town jacket, but perfect for rainny weather and camping trips.
