Comments about SureFire G2X Pro Flashlight:
I can't believe how small/compact, light, bright, and affordable this new Surefire G2X Pro is. I had been thinking about one of their other flashlights like the Coast lights, Surefire LX2 Lumamax(same 200high/15low lumens but it's $130 more and requires the tailcap to be twisted for constant on), etc. With the G2X Pro, you can either gently press(and hold) the tailcap button for low light(thanks Surefire, that makes the most sense for low to come on first vs high so you don't lose your night vision) for however long you want to hold the button(or if you need more light, gently press the button again for high). If you want low light constant on, press the tailcap button down until it clicks and stays on. Need more light then within ~2seconds press the button again until it clicks and that's high. Another great feature by Surefire on this model is that if you'll be storing the light and don't want it to accidentally be turned on, turn the tailcap CCW until you can't turn the light on by pressing the tailcap button. This will save your batteries.
I'll be using this light for SAR, it easily fits in my chest harness(unlike some of the other bulkier lights that are just as bright) and it should work very well in the field.
My only gripe so far(why I wanted to give it 4.5stars); I too wish it had some sort of small clip on it to be able to tie some small dia elastic cord to in order to keep track of it as it really is amazingly small.

Comments about SureFire G2X Pro Flashlight:
I just wanted to clarify because I was put off by a previous review that claimed this light had a problem of switch back and forth from high to low while you are using it. The light only switches when you release pressure on the switch and put pressure back on again. If you maintain pressure then you're fine. Also, this light comes with a click switch, and it you use the click switch then you never have the problem of the beam switching. Click once for low, click again for high. I got the previous model of this light as a gift and I and to have this new one. The performance is amazing. It's always in my pack or in the car when we head out any where.

Comments about SureFire G2X Pro Flashlight:
There is a lot to like about this light. Very well made, super bright high beam, small and lightweight. There is one flaw however. When I tap my light very lightly it flips from high beam to low beam. A slightly heavier tap flips it back to the high beam. I exchanged it for another and the new one also does it. The sample flashlight at the store does it as well. I don't know why this would be a desirable feature so I have to assume it is a product defect. My inquiries to Surefire were never answered. If this won't bother you I recommend this light, if it will bother you then you might consider the G2X Tactical which is the single beam version of this light.

Comments about SureFire G2X Pro Flashlight:
Not sure I would get a single brightness level light as there are times when you don't want that much light. Definitely would go for the increased battery time too over a single speed unit. Other feature that is noticeable is that the light does wash out colors, sometimes more so than other LED lights.
Other than that, this is a very good item and remember to buy the multi pack of Surefire batteries, which I have not had to use yet.

Comments about SureFire G2X Pro Flashlight:
Iv been using surefires since 2005 and this is the first problem ive ever had with them. The problem is when the g2x pro is on the low output 15 lumens setting, even the slightest bump will automatically change it to the 200 lumens setting (not supposed to happen and is extremely annoying). It pretty much makes the low light setting useless, and you automatically have to bypass it to get to the high output setting. From what i can tell, the issue is caused by the spring in the rear cap being to weak, so any vibrations cause a separation between the battery and the spring which makes it switch settings with the slightest bump. I went through two different surefire G2x Pro's before finally returning the second one to rei. [...] Surefires are still great flashlights, but i suggest the Surefire G2x single output over the g2xpro.

Comments about SureFire G2X Pro Flashlight:
This is a great flashlight for the price. It's made in the USA, and it shows in the high quality of its construction. It's light and durable. I will be taking it on my hikes as my primary flashlight. The 15 lumens is good enough for seeing the trail right in front of you, and the battery will last a long time at that low output. The high output (200 lumens) will give you a good view of your surroundings; you can see a good distance. It does not get cold to the touch like the aluminum version. Keep a good grip on it, it's a little slippery. Aside from that little quirk, it's a very good, tough, and small flashlight.

I bought a Surefire G2 LED a few years ago and was impressed. With this new model release you get a brighter light that is less expensive, a win win! Surefire all the way, you won't be disappointed.

Comments about SureFire G2X Pro Flashlight:
This is not a maglight... this is a powerful flashlight and provides great range. I absolutely love it! Perfect if you're ever caught hiking and lost in the dark (cuz you never know when that might happen.. headlamps only go so far.)
I'm also a social worker who work in dangerous neighborhoods.. we're not allowed to carry weapons so I keep this on me all the time. My military friend also taught me a trick to this flashlight.. to hold the flashlight in hand with my thumb at the end clicker to use as a weapon, if necessary. Apparently the light is so powerful it can blind someone for a short while and is SO durable I'm sure it'll hurt if I hit you with it. =)

Comments about SureFire G2X Pro Flashlight:
This is a great light, I've tested several lights over the last couple years and will stick with this one! Currently I'm running a little test to see which is cheaper... those LED's that take 3 AAA's vs. the batteries in this light. My theory is that these might be more expensive buy they last ALOT longer and are more consistent. Although there is no comparison to this and a $5 flashlight but how many of those AAA's are you going to go through before replace these? MANY! so just buck up and buy this one! :)

Comments about SureFire G2X Pro Flashlight:
SureFire flashlights are well built in the USA and law enforcement as well as military agencies use their products because of their durability and power. These attributes usually come with a price and while most would not spend this amount of money on a "flashlight," I promise you will not be disappointed. This is one of the most affordable SureFire lights available for the features it has. Go test it out! ;-)
