Comments about Highgear Axio HR Multifunction Watch:
When enjoying the outdoors of Montana two things never stay the same, the weather and the altitude. The Highgear Axio HR not only delivers with highly consistent altitude and barometer functions, they have thrown in the heat rate monitor as well. This was one of my biggest complaints when looking for a solid, well built heart rate monitor that could stand up to everyday use in the outdoors. The Highgear takes the tools found on a Suunto and a Garmin and mixes them together to create one great watch.
The set-up functions are not overly complicated but it does take some on-line research as well as referring back to the manual a few times to learn all the different functions and how they operate.
Water resistant to 50m is also a plus. The band is soft rubber and the size of the face is not overly huge like many altimeter/barometer/heart rate monitor watches. It's very comfortable and I often forget it is on my wrist.
Overall I'm very satisfied with this watch. I use it mostly for trail running, hiking and mountain biking. Both the altimeter and the barometer are spot on. The weather forecast icon is also a cool feature. The heart rate monitor options are not as extensive as a Garmin but for simple heart rate, calories burned, percentage of time spend in your pre-selected work out zone etc. it gives me the info I'm really looking for. I wear it as an everyday watch and have been very happy with it.

Comments about Highgear Axio HR Multifunction Watch:
I had the previous version (Alterra) and I really liked the ski chronograph option. This one does not have it and it is no so accurate on logbook altitude calculations. I will probably exchange it for another one.
