Comments about Nite Ize 1 Watt LED Upgrade II Kit - AA Mini Maglite:
Very happy with this product once bulb is installed properly. Requires patience to install. Bought a second unit for another flashlight. Once installed, works great. Much brighter than old krypton bulb (subtracted 1 star for the install)

Comments about Nite Ize 1 Watt LED Upgrade II Kit - AA Mini Maglite:
As I tried to install the led into the maglight, the tiny and too long wires broke off. As in another review written here. Just didn't seem to be designed well. I like my other led light, a Fenix, but wanted to use all the old mag lights I have. Glad I only bought one of these!

Comments about Nite Ize 1 Watt LED Upgrade II Kit - AA Mini Maglite:
This seemed like such a good idea ... rather than replace a burned out bulb in a mini mag, i though i could replace it with a super bright, more energy efficient bulb. Unfortunately i couldn't get this to work.
The pins on the one i got were either too long or bent such that they would go in completely. Once i straightened them is was able to get it installed, but the unit wouldn't close completely ... if you are used to the solid feel of the mini mag, this felt like something was rattling around loose inside. plus about a half turn and the front piece would separate from the rest of the light.
I tried this with two, 2-cell AA sized mini's before deciding to take it back.
If you want an LED flash light buy one ... save your self the pleasure of fooling with this one.
On an amusing note, the instructions are printed on a slip of paper that might measure 1" x 1" ... somewhat larger than a postage stamp. hard to know what the manufacturer might have been thinking on that one.

Comments about Nite Ize 1 Watt LED Upgrade II Kit - AA Mini Maglite:
I bought one several years ago for my mini mag and really liked it. It is a bit "softer" of a light but still very usable and a great addition to the mini mag. I like Nite Ize products and they are a reputable company. I think the 1 star review may have just gotten a bad one. I"m sure Nite Ize would have replaced it in a heart beat. Currently buying one for my boss hence the delay of several years for my review

Comments about Nite Ize 1 Watt LED Upgrade II Kit - AA Mini Maglite:
I was impressed with this for about a week. That is how long it lasted. The circuit control in the tailcap failed after that. I prefer the tactical, tailcap style of flashlights and give this one a plus for making the MagLight usable in this maner. After it failed, I purchased one of the LED MagLights and found that it was a good bit brighter anyways. This flashlight now has just the simple Nite Ize Tailcap Switch upgrade, and the electronics are in the MagLight itself. I use this frequently in my job as a mechanic.
I still prefer my Streamlight Strion for normal day to day use, SO MUCH brighter. And a LOT more expensive... But when out backpacking I can not recharge it via solar and the extra weight is not worth carrying. A Maglight is a fair solution.
