Comments about Polar RS800CX Multisport Heart Rate Monitor:

Unlike the other reviewer, my RS 800 CX works great. I use it for bicycling without problem. I use it (particularly for its GPS and altitude features) when trekking to recored my efforts. It works great with GoogleEarth to show my route on photographic maps. My battery case is also flared due to my using the wrong coin, but it works fine anyway. The software is very good- and helpful for training. It is also nice that one can throw the chest strap in the delicate wash load. Despite use in snowstorms and thunderstorms (and summer use in Alabama!), I've had no problem with fogging on the face. Battery use is good (not great), but at least the button batteries are cheap at [...]. I'm still hoping to get the foot pod for use in the gym to track my indoor "mileage" and steps.

Comments about Polar RS800CX Multisport Heart Rate Monitor:

You put a lot of money into this watch for multi-sport performance. But I never got the chance to use it for anything but heart rate and stopwatch. Condensation under the plastic screen blocked the display every time unless I put the watch in a pocket. Also, the battery had to replaced after a couple of dozen times and I was not happy to discover that the battery cover is made of plastic and not metal like my old Polar watches. So when I replaced the battery, the grove to turn the cover with a nickel, the grove became badly damaged and now the cover is badly stuck in place. Also possibly related to that, the watch crashed so I never had the opportunity to try the bike or GPS features.

Comments about Polar RS800CX Multisport Heart Rate Monitor:

While I like the monitor for it's versatility and accuracy, The battery life is poor and the plastic construction does not justify the price paid for this. Once the back is opened, the main button becomes realigned and requires several pushes to get it to respond. I have only had this for about 8 months and am very disappointed. I would definitely urge people not to pay this kind of money for something that not only does not last but seems to be cheaply made as well.
