    • NOW PLAYING

We updated our Novara Carema Pro with a new frame design and the new Shimano 105 group which, when paired with the women-specific fit, makes it one speedy, multitalented ride.

    • Carema Pro is your all-around sport ride, fast enough for fitness training, triathlons or spicy group rides, yet comfortable and stable enough for long days in the saddle
    • Updated 6061 aluminum frame features shaped seatstays and top tube for enhanced comfort and performance; carbon fork helps damp road vibrations and reduces weight
    • Carema Pro geometry has also been optimized to offer a comfortable, women-specific fit
    • Features new Shimano 105 group, which offers high-end performance features such as reach-adjustable levers, enhanced shifting and improved ergonomics without the price hike
    • FSA Vero triple crankset and 10-speed 105 cassette offer 30 gear combinations that let you spin easily and efficiently on hills, descents and everything between
    • Shimano long-reach caliper brakes offer fender clearance and deliver dependable braking power
    • Supple Vittoria Rubino Pro tires supply a fantastic ride quality; Weinmann rims and dependable Shimano hubs provide sure rolling performance
    • Eyelets for fenders let you outfit the Carema Pro for wet-weather or commuting performance (fenders sold separately)
    • Replaceable rear derailleur hanger helps extend the usable life of the frame
    • Specs on the Novara Carema Pro women's road bike are subject to change

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. Contact your nearest REI bike shop for details and an appointment for this important service.

Comments about Novara Carema Pro Women's Bike - 2011:

I bought the 2010 model a week before the Clean Air Challenge in mid-May and it made this 120-mile ride so much easier, nicer and faster. I had ridden it the past two years on a mountain bike. With this ride complete, it was time to start training for the MS-150 in mid-September.

After putting 1,100 miles on this bike in four months, I can honestly say I LOVE this bike. It is comfortable (except for the seat...why do they even come with a seat?). The bike also handles well and I haven no complaints at all. Also, the components are great for the price of this bike.

The bike arrived at the store within a week and it was quickly assembled and fitted. REI supports both the bike rides I rode and do an awesome job with any adjustments needed and additional repairs along the way. With the week of riding before the ride and the 120-miles in the ride, I was able to get the initial break-in adjustments taken care of.

I was worried that I would quickly out-grow this bike, wanting to take it up a notch. Frankly, I'm very pleased with this bike and would highly recommend it. Completely satisfied....and can't wait to get back on it!

Comments about Novara Carema Pro Women's Bike - 2011:

This is actually a great bike. The only two complaints I have are the gear shifting is a little slow and very loud and the handlebars could be a bit better (I find the shape/geometry leaves something to be desired; the tape on the handlebars is great though). I switched out the seat when I got the bike, so I don't have much to say there. Otherwise this bike is pretty fast, good for long rides (I do 60 miles at least once a week), commutes etc. It handles really well, the brakes are great (I live in Seattle so there is a lot of downhill braking) and wet conditions it works alright compared with other bikes I've ridden.
