After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. Contact your nearest REI bike shop for details and an appointment for this important service.

Comments about Diamondback Recoil Mountain Bike - 2010 Special Buy:

After riding it for less than 20 minutes, the front crank made a grinding noise and it was gear hunting (shifts up and down). Brought it to REI in Sta Ana and was was told that the front crank was warped. After a week I learned from REI that Diamondback was not responding to the warranty claim so they asked me if im interested in upgrading the part to a better model for such and such amount. I was asking for s one on one replacement but they said not possible. I bought this for [$] hoping for a decent quality bike. It's a total waste of money.

Comments about Diamondback Recoil Mountain Bike - 2010 Special Buy:

For the sale price it is a great bike. ([$]) The frame is great but the components are not the best (but this was expected as the bike was inexpensive compared to other mountain bikes). The components have worked fine for me so far though the Chainring (crankset) is slightly bent. Not enough of a bend though to cause a problem when shifting gears. I will replace eventually with a better crankset when this one gives out.
