Comments about Osprey FlapJill Daypack:
This bag is the perfect small sexy laptop bag for me - I play the corporate game, but am an outdoors practical girl at heart. It is slim enough to not feel like a backpack (frumpy) and does not get weighed down with me cramming it full. Performs excellent on airplanes where space is a premium, and keeps pickpockets or fiddlers OUT of my stuff on busy trains or overseas. Fantastic bag!

Comments about Osprey FlapJill Daypack:
I LOVE this bag - needed a new laptop bag, that was cute, but not large and bulky. They really put thought into it when creating this bag. I got the cornflower blue. I love it's size and it's comfortable hanging on my shoulder. It comes with 3 different colored straps, which I love for changing out. The only con is it's hard to take the strap off the buckle to change them out, just requires some brut strength. It holds my 15.4 laptop, laptop cooler, cords & stuff, along with a book or magazine, without any problems. It can easily hold a 16in. laptop, even though it's say 15in. in the description. This bag is for minimalist stuff - if you need it to hold all your school books & laptop - this isn't the bag for you. If your just looking for something to just to keep the basics in to go to work or the park-it's perfect! I LOVE IT!!!

Comments about Osprey FlapJill Daypack:
I was looking for something more grownup than a standard messenger bag for work and travel, and the Flapjill fits the bill.
This is not a large bag--if you carry everything and the kitchen sink, you won't like it. But I found it works super well as a low-profile carryon and urban bag. The bag is very sleek, with minimal straps and do-dads to snag in narrow airplane aisles. It fits under the seat on a plane or train with room for my feet too.
My typical load includes: 13" MacBook OR iPad; journal or folio; wallet, phone, and minimal personal kit; small accessory bag for dongles, etc; and a small water bottle. With the laptop it's a bit snug-- the iPad is a better device for this bag. When I have the MacBook in the bag, the water bottle doesn't fit well in the side pocket.
This is an extremely well-designed bag. The details are well thought out and the construction is top notch. They styling is cool, understated, and not too "girly." The straps are super comfortable and don't slip around, and the laptop compartment is well padded.
I only have two issues with the bag:
1. The pen slots are too small for regular rollerball style pens. I carefully removed the stitching between the two slots to make one larger one that accommodates a larger pen and a slim stylus.
2. The side pocket is a bit too slim to be used for a water bottle when I'm carrying the MacBook. It works better when I'm carrying the iPad, and I suspect it would be fine with a slim laptop like a Mac Air. A tall, small diameter water bottle works best with this pack.
Overall, this is a great travel and work pack if you want understated styling and can pack light.

Comments about Osprey FlapJill Daypack:
This bag is one of the best purchases I've ever made. It has a slim profile so is not awkward to carry on buses, etc. like a traditional backpack can be. Its best feature is that it is easily adjustable depending on how much you need to carry. With just a few items, the straps cinch down nicely keeping it very small and close to the back. But it can also fit TONS of stuff, which is great for travel. The lining has an adjustable "neck" that can come up higher than the apparent top of the bag, and with the cinch straps designed the way they are, you can still close it securely that way and fit way more in there than you would ever imagine. On a recent trip, I had my laptop, power supply, phone charger, ipod, three hardcover books, magazines, a large water bottle, a sweater, wallet and keys, and maybe other things that I'm forgetting. The only downside is that when it is packed very full, the exterior pockets are hard to access. Overall, this is a fantastic bag and I would disagree with the previous review stating that it has a small carrying capacity.

The flapjill is perfect in every way. It has a low profile compared to all the other laptop bags in the market and had pretty sharp looks as well. Does not exude the "IT Geek" look yet hold everything you need to carry with your laptop. I ride my bike to work 3 days a week and was looking for something low profile and comfortable on my small frame. This one fit the bill. I like that I can still use the same pack even when I am not riding and its actually perfect for business trips. The side pocket holds a water bottle or an umbrella and the front holds the cords. I loved the fact that its actually light weight, every other pack I tried weighed at least twice as much even when nothing was inside! In fact I liked it so much I bought the Flap Jack for my husband when his current pack wore out and he loves his too!

Comments about Osprey FlapJill Daypack:
Wanted a professional looking pack (not too big/bulky) to hold my 17.3" laptop and all its accessories. With a velcro extension (available from any craft store for <$5.00) over the laptop closure, it holds my laptop just fine, full-sized keyboard (Logitech-backlit), plus other accessories. I would've liked to get the FlapJill Large, but I preferred the green color only available in the FlapJill.

Comments about Osprey FlapJill Daypack:
As with so many items from Osprey, this is a very stylish pack. I bought it to replace an older Osprey travel pack to use on my 2 day business trips, I only carry the one bag. I agree with the other reviewers, this is not a pack to stuff everything in (clothes, climbing gear, paperwork, laptop)..I purchased the large. When quite well stuffed, I found out the hard way at security screening that my chunky 15 inch laptop wouldn't come out without a fight, I slowed the line down, very embarassing. To be fair, it does fit beautifully in the above seat storage of even small, regional planes. Back home, after discussions with Osprey, I tried my husband's slimmer 17 inch and it was less of a fight, but still a fight (when stuffed, it changes the shape of the opening, curving it and making a quick removal of a laptop difficult). The other issue is it's so narrow and deep, you have to unload all the top items to get to something at the bottom. The folks at Osprey were incredibly welcoming of the feedback and suggested a different pack that would better suit my needs and style, the Momentum 34, which is on order. The Flap Jill is a very cute, quality product, just not the right one for me. I love Osprey though, and will continue to use their packs!
