The Patagonia R3® Hi-Loft fleece jacket is a very warm layering piece. It is engineered for maximum warmth and minimal weight when layered under a shell.

R3 is seriously focused on insulating (a shell over the top maximizes its performance), thanks to a higher-loft Polartec® Thermal Pro® fabric
Polartec Thermal Pro polyester is resilient yet lightweight, compressible and stretchy; its directional knit also wicks moisture and speeds drying time
Warm and stretchy Polartec® Power Stretch® panels under the arms and down the sides allow a clean fit and full freedom of motion, and enhance durability
Microfleece-lined collar, cuffs and hem enhance comfort
Shoulder yoke offset ensures comfort under pack straps
Drawcord hem helps reduce heat loss and trap warmth close to the body
Stretch-woven chest pocket provides quick-access storage
The Patagonia R3® Hi-Loft fleece jacket features a regular fit that is neither slim nor oversized; it may be worn over heavier base layers

This is a super comfy jacket, I loved it. My only issue was that it's not very versatile because it's not windproof. This an excellent jacket for layering.

I really do like this fleece jacket. It's a true performance piece w/ a sporty performance fit. I take it backpacking and also jogging in cold weather…it holds up great.
The fit is a bit snug for me around the chest shoulder area (I'm 5'10" and weigh ~175lbs). If I wear anything other than a t-shirt or base layer it can bit uncomfortable in the armpit area.
As long as it's not windy or raining this thing is great…it warms you up real quick. It's lightweight and packs great.

This thing is great and highly recommended unless you think this is extraordinary warm for sub 65 weather. Layer with it to remedy that but this is not like a winter jacket by any means.

This is a great jacket I always find myself choosing it because how functional it is. It has held up over time and is very comfortable, much softer and more compressible than the retro x. Drawstring is a plus for taller guys who have to buy a size up for length.

Great product, really warm, its so fluffy its like wearing a carpet almost. I'm 6'3...got a small, arm length is perfect. Only downside is honestly, patagonia seems to be cutting corners with their workmanship. Sleeve ends need some work, like velcro closures, could be put together alittle more solid. Overall great jacket so far, got the autumn color and get comps all the time.
