Polartec Power Dry utilizes 2 different yarns on either side of the fabric to enhance comfort: interior yarn wicks moisture, and exterior yarn dries quickly
The combination of the 2 yarns helps keep you dry during highly aerobic activities because it moves moisture away from skin faster than single-component fabrics such as cotton
Flatseam construction reduces chafing, and seams are designed to work with pack straps at shoulders

This version of the mid-weight long underwear top is really inferior to the last year's version. This version is stiff and just hangs, unlike the previous version which was soft and draped really nicely. These tops don't stretch at all so they're really uncomfortable. The waffled fabric is scratchy and I felt like it would snag on chapped hands, etc. The tops that I have from last year are soft and silky but still keep me really toasty. I was planning to buy a half dozen new long underwear tops this year but I'll have to treat my old ones with TLC and hope that they bring the old version back next year.

The previous version of this long underwear was much better: more comfortable, nicer fit, more durable. I will continue to purchase this long underwear because the fit is still better than most other brands (the long torso stays tucked in) but I am disappointed with the changes they have made and hope that next year's product is better.

I own three different sets of these, and would buy three more...if I could justify it! I have been buying wicking long-johns for years...and usually wear them downhill skiing or to cut wood. However, this time, I wanted to get a few sets for sleeping - starting to experience night sweats (joy!). Anyway...these fit the bill perfectly.

I can wear these around the house without fear of unexpected company. They are perfect for sleepwear - they don't shimmy up my arms or legs; and I don't feel confined in them.

They don't feel as soft/silky as other wicking clothing - and my dry fingers seem to catch the waffled fabric. However, they don't seem to snag; and I don't feel itchy or uncomfortable in them when wearing. I absolutely love wearing them!

And...they are made in the USA!

I wore it as an under layer under a sweater and light cotton jacket in Madrid, Segovia and Toledo this January. It kept me warm on cold mornings, cold windy days and rainy days. The inner waffle, similar to thermal, could be a bit softer but it didn't bother me. BTW, it was warmer than the silk one, so I stuck with this one.
