Comments about SmartWool PhD Graduated Compression Ultra Light Socks:
I wear compression socks on a daily basis for work and love SmartWool products. These fit like $100 + socks that I get prescriptions to wear. Also, since they are SmartWool they do a great job of wicking moisture and keeping feet nice and dry in my winter boots on the weekends. But they are terribly sized. I initially purchased mine for my husband for airplane travel and they are very short in foot length. The large fits my Women's size 9 perfectly. I will be looking for new socks for him and keep wearing these for myself.

Comments about SmartWool PhD Graduated Compression Ultra Light Socks:
They run small, but the sock is a good sock. Thin like all liners and really comfy even small. I do a lot of out door work and these are great for summer, or add another thick layer and you have a good moisture layer for winter

Comments about SmartWool PhD Graduated Compression Ultra Light Socks:
Bought these socks for recovery from hard run and bike workouts. I'm 5'4" and they go right up to my knee, so perfect height wise. I wore them after a hard 10K yesterday and my calves and ankles are fine this morning. I tried wearing them during the night, but I had to take them off after a while because my toes started hurting. Put them on again to wear to work this morning and they are fine. There is some extra material, not a lot, that sticks out by my ankles and toes, but this has not caused any problems. I'm not planning on running in them and only just got them, so I can't speak as yet to durability, but the material seems kind of thin by my ankles.

Comments about SmartWool PhD Graduated Compression Ultra Light Socks:
I wear a 6 in women's shoes, and bought a size small sock. But no matter how much I stretch the toe prior to putting them on, my toes ache after 4 or 5 hours. It's almost as if the toe area is too short. But I'm otherwise extremely pleased with the amount of compression after sitting behind my desk or on a plane all day, and will be exchanging them for a medium.

Comments about SmartWool PhD Graduated Compression Ultra Light Socks:
My hubby bought these for me after reading a review in Runner's World. I love them as a recovery sock or wearing on a run when I am having a "bad day". They give you a little extra pep in your step. They are also my go-to travel sock now. I wear them when I fly to avoid swollen feet when I land. I have narrow feet and skinny calves, so I do wish they were a tiny bit tighter, but they seem to do the trick.

Comments about SmartWool PhD Graduated Compression Ultra Light Socks:
So I am a nurse who loves to run and workout, which means I am on my feet a lot! I wanted to wear these to work so I can "recover" at work and prevent swelling and leg pain (although actually I feel more leg fatigue after working all day than after running 6 miles). Probably all nurses should wear something like this. Anyhow, I should have gone up a size (from the small) because although I am usually a small in SmartWool socks these are a little too short in the foot but especially too short in the leg. Compression socks should go up to one inch below the knee bend. Maybe the larger sizes are longer. Also, technically they should be sized according to calf size, to ensure that you are getting the right amount of compression (20-30mmHg). If you have circulation problems, you should not wear these but should get a prescription and be measured for true compression stockings. All in all though, these were comfortable to wear at work and I will continue to wear.

I bought these after the review in Runner's World. I was looking for something to help with recovery after races. I used them on my last race and love them. I drove home 4-5/hrs in them and no aches, etc. I plan to try and run in them and see if they work just as well. For a recovery sock I am hooked!

I used them after a very long run. None of the soreness I expected was there - even the next day.
