As I stated in the review headline I'm sure what's going on with the sizing of this particular Patagonia shirt. I have several Patagonia flannel shirts from years past in large so I expected this one to fit about the same. Boy, was I wrong. The sleeve and torso length seem to be cut for tall men's size. I'm 6 feet and a sleeve length around 33/34 inches. The chest sizing was fine but sleeves extended almost to my finger tips and the tail extened too far also. My older shirts were produced in Portugal and this new one comes from China. The shirt is advertised as heavy but it seemed be of a lighter weight than my older ones. This new one is organic cotton and the older ones are not so that may be why. I did return the shirt. May try a different one later. I hope Patagonia's sizing problems don't get as bad as Cloudveil's

This is probably one of the best flannels out there. I was looking for a heavier weight shirt that was super durable and comfy and I found it. The fit is sometimes hard to get right on Patagonia garments, but if you get it right, this is a great shirt. I usually wear a medium in Patagonia Regular fit shirts so I decided to get a small since this is a relaxed fit...perfect. Unless you plan on layering more than one shirt underneath or have huge shoulders, I would suggest ordering one size down. The feel of this shirt is outstanding. It's soft yet still durable enough to take a beating. Plus, its organic cotton. Can't get much better than that. Definitely recommend.

Ok, I currently own two of these (another was stolen by a lady friend - one of the two I still have was almost taken by a different lady). They're great shirts - I nearly live in mine. The fabric is wonderfully soft and warm. ...but, they changed the sizing.
Patagonia sizing isn't just S, M, L etc, they also have a relaxed, regular and slim fit. In the past these were regular fit and a Small was perfect. This year (2010) they're a relaxed fit and an XS is still a little big after several washings. The fabric is still wonderful, but buy a size down and let it shrink in the wash and be careful who you lend it to - you might not get it back!

This has become my fav flannel shirt. Far surpassing any others I own. It doesn't feel big like some Patagonia items do. I'm 6'1" 180 and the large fits great. It's thick and warm and can be worn doing anything.
