I bought the Sven Saw and the Gerber Double Joint Saw and tried them both out. The Sven cut much faster. Maybe because blade is a lot thinner. I returned the Gerber.

Comments about Gerber Double Joint Saw:

This saw was much larger than I imagined it to be, but it packs up tightly in a great design. It performed very well over a long weekend car camping trip, cutting quickly and comfortably. The blade locks at a nearly right angle to make sawing much less tiring. The blade was long and sturdy enough to cut a few 12 inch rounds of pretty dense wood, and quickly made mincemeat of 3-5 in logs. It's very compact and light weight for its size but a little more than I would take backpacking. The all plastic handle and flip-out blade cover keep it light, but will cost it a star for durability and quality (mine needs a little help to find its groove there). All-in-all I was very pleased with my new toy that performed above and beyond our expectations.
