Comments about Bern Watts Bike Helmet:

put it on. look at your reflection in the window of a passing car. take an unplanned turn down a street you've never noticed before. slow down as you catch the smell of fresh baked bread. discover kids playing iguana baby in a sunny alley. hear a singer practicing scales in a third floor window. circle around looking for that bakery. stumble upon a park. see a beautiful woman with an expensive camera chasing a goose. peel off your clothes and jump into the lake. reassure the goose the woman does not intend to cause any harm. pose with goose. exchange numbers with photographer. shake water out of helmet. ride home naked.

        sometimes a helmet changes everything.

Comments about Bern Watts Bike Helmet:

Mosselhoff is way wrong. This low profile helmet fits way better than some of the $100 plus lids I have purchased in the past. Bern knows how to design a functional product with style for sure. Plus you can get interchangeable upgrades for colder weather riding, with audio as well.

Comments about Bern Watts Bike Helmet:

I bought this helmet over a year ago and used it just about daily to commute and ride around Dallas, Kansas City and Denver. The shell withstood a lot of abuse and scratches and nicks from leaving it chained to parking meters and such. Style-wise, it resembles a large moped helmet.

In cooler months or rain, it works solidly, but when you wear it in the summertime, your brain basically hard-boils. Look at the thing: very few ventilation holes, and the ones it has are on top, making it hard for any cooling air to blow in. If you're a warm-weather rider, or want to do more than cruise recreationally, you'd do well to find something that breathes a little better.

Comments about Bern Watts Bike Helmet:

I bought this helmet a year ago and have never ridden in it. I bought it because the review said it had a low profile fit and didn't look huge. Well, it looks stupid. It's a good looking helmet, but it's too tight front to back and flops side to side because it's too wide. I would understand if I had a wierd shaped melon, but the bottom line is, that it's just a goofy shaped helmet. I've read lots of reviews on other sites stating the same. I would strongly recommend trying this thing on before you but it. If it fits, congrats you have a cool looking helmet, but I'd bet that most will have trouble deciding if it's too small or too big. Luckily, REI has a return policy, unfortunately I live 200+ miles from the nearest REI.

Comments about Bern Watts Bike Helmet:

I've been bombing the streets (Boulder,CO/Seattle, WA) helmetless since I could ride a bike. I've purchased a couple of traditional helmets and tried to wear them but ended up ditching them after a couple of weeks due to them being uncomfortable, unsightly/enormously large (call me vain, I can take it), and/or unable to adequately protect my dome from the elements. My "helmet" has just always been riding smart, paying attention, avoiding cars. With my yearly membership coupon burning a hole in my pocket I was enticed by the look of this helmet and decided to try it on. By far the most comfortable helmet ever concieved. I purchased it and threw it on for the bike ride from REI and mistakenly wore it into the grocery, forgetting I had it on. The helmet is light-weight, super comfortable, adjusts very easily, looks awesome, keeps my head warm on my 5am commute and cool on the way home, and best of all I don't have to worry about leaving my brain scattered on the street.
