The insulated bottle is terrific--keeps hot liquids hot for hours. But this cap stinks. Klean Kanteen calls it "splashproof," which I guess is accurate, but it certainly isn't leakproof. Enough liquid leaks out that you can practically drink your beverage with the lid closed. Hope they improve this cap, because I really like the bottle. For now, though, stick with the loop cap that comes with the bottle.

I bought this along with an insulated Klean Kanteen for my husband. We are so pleased with this pairing. This cap is great for his hot coffee or tea. It is easy to drink from and easy to clean. It is not leak proof, but I don't expect that from this type of cap (If I wanted that I'd stick to the loop!). I am ordering another for myself.

Splash-proof? Yes. Leak-proof? No. That's what I expected based on the description of the item itself.

I use this mostly for sipping on coffee at the office. I would only recommend this lid if you are going to use it while not doing some strenuous activity. That is, treat it like you would a plastic lid that you'd get at a coffee shop.

It's very easy to clean, which is extremely important to me. All the other lids that I've tried cannot be taken apart so it tends to leave coffee stains or hard water deposits in the microscopic cracks of the lid after a couple months.

If the above doesn't sound like you, then I would recommend going with something else. It's not perfect, but it works for me.

This lid is great when paired with the original vacuum bottle lid. I transport the Klean Kanteen in my bag for a no-spill trip and when I get where I am going, I switch to this drinking lid. I keep this in my bag all the time. I also use this lid when driving and my coffee still stays piping hot or cold drinks stay cold!
