The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Smith Parallel Max Polarized Sunglasses:
I use these sunglasses for everything: biking, hiking, driving, skiing.
They are comfortable, lightweight, and give good coverage. Mostly I use the gray lenses, but the rose lenses are good in lower light, and the clears are good for Mt Biking. The lenses are easy to change out.
They do seem to scratch easier than other lenses I have had. The replacement lenses (from Smith) are way overpriced. They offer many different colors, but I wish they would offer a dark gray lens with lower light transmission so that I could use them as glacier glasses.

Comments about Smith Parallel Max Polarized Sunglasses:
I use these glasses to run and bike. I use the clear lenses to keep my eyes from drying out when I run in the pre-light hours. The darker lenses are ALMOST as good as my very expensive Maui Jims (that's saying alot since MJ sunglasses are the best imo).
I was looking for a pair of interchangeable glasses with at least a set of clear lenses (for pre-dawn and night running) and polarized dark lenses. These fit the bill. They are more expensive than the Tifosi Slips but since they have everything I wanted and are more comfortable than the Slips AND because they cover enough of my eye area to keep the wind out (something the Slips didn't do). . .it was totally worth it.
These glasses do fog ever so slightly on the edges on very cold days when you stop moving and have really worked up a sweat. But once you start moving. . .they clear up immediately.
I would totally buy these again if they were ever lost or damaged.

Comments about Smith Parallel Max Polarized Sunglasses:
These replaced a similar but discontinued style of Smith's. The fit is really comfortable, lightweight, and secure. I would wear these all the time, from just being out in the car to on the trail, running or biking. But, now the most impressive part of these Smith's are the fact that the company sent these to me to replace the previous pair within a day of receiving my claim. The old pair had a kind of powder coating on the frame that had worn off (this pair has nothing like that) just from wear with bike helmets and hats, I think. They said this was completely covered and politely offered to replace with an equivalent pair of glasses, which they then shipped immediately. It made me feel that much more justified to spend over $100 on a pair of sunglasses.

Comments about Smith Parallel Max Polarized Sunglasses:
I've been a buyer of cheap sunglasses for a long time and swore that I would never buy another pair of $100 sunglasses after losing a pair about 15 years ago. These fit nice and snug but leave enough airflow around them that they don't fog up. The polarized frames are excellent on the water and they come with three pairs of lenses (smoke, amber, clear). I'm very happy so far and would definitely recommend them in the price range.
Service and delivery comments:
I bought these while traveling at the store in Sacramento,CA and the first employee was not interested in helping me at all. I told him what I wanted and he took it to the register then disappeared. He acted like I was bothering him. Fortunately another employee in the knife section talked with me and explained the membership program. We discussed knives and he recommended one which I bought online once I returned home. I wish I remembered his unusual name because he deserves credit for me becoming a member and a repeat customer. I would have been a one time customer based on the first guy.

Comments about Smith Parallel Max Polarized Sunglasses:
These are my third pair of Smith's (lost my Toasters, and still have my Thresholds) and by far my favorite. The lenses offergood coverage and protection, and vent quite well (much better than my Thresholds) which is a plus during a hike or ride, and these fit my face the best. As with all Smith sunglasses I've owned, there is some noticeable distortion though I don't find it bothersome and vision through the lenses is crystal clear. Not quite upto the lens quality of Oakley, but very, very good and well worth the money imo.
