The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Sigma Sport BC1609 / STS Cadence Bike Computer - Wireless:
I recently bought this computer I when got a new road bike and I love them both. The computer is easy to use and the large readout makes it easy to read. I love the way it looks on my bike as the mechanic set up both of the transmitters on the rear of the bike [It looks easy enough to install, if I had to do it myself]. It has all of the other basic functions including my new favorite, temperature.
This is my first bike with cadence and I am beginning to truly understand why so many people suggested that I get cadence. I find that it's helping me to keep my form towards the end of my rides.
There are some functions I have not tried yet, stopwatch, countdown timer and backlight, but I'm sure I will find a use for all of them as time goes on. The backlight for sure!

Comments about Sigma Sport BC1609 / STS Cadence Bike Computer - Wireless:
This is my first Sigma computer and it is working out very well. It's very easy to use, set-up, and read. It has tons of features built into it. The only problem with it is that you can only read (2) items at once (i.e. speed and something else). Other than that the Sigma computer can not be beat. Highly recommend!

Comments about Sigma Sport BC1609 / STS Cadence Bike Computer - Wireless:
I have two of these computers - one on my single bike and one on my tandem - and have used them for two seasons. I have found the Sigma computers to be a very good value. I particularly like the 1609 because (a) it is wireless, (b) it has cadence, and (c) the display is big enough that my 50-something eyes can easily read it while riding. Yeah, there is a trade-off with large numbers on the display: unless the manufacturer makes the unit huge you only get to see a limited amount of information at one time. Personally, I would rather have speed and cadence that I can read versus a ton of information that I cannot. If you have young eyes that can read small print and want tons of information available to you at a single glance, this is probably not the unit for you.
In response to some complaints in other reviews:
Yes, the instructions are brief, but wholly adequate given that installation is incredibly simple.
There ARE holes for cable ties, exactly where they need to be. Think like a cable tie and you will easily find them.
Yes, the display unit takes a few seconds to match up with the sensor, but it is no big deal and I would assume similar to what you will get with any wireless unit.
If the computer stops reading consistently, you might check the distance between the magnet and sensor... I have had no problems with reliability.
The one improvement I would like to see is to make the mount slightly more secure. I had another Sigma with the same mount. Near the end of a century, while a bit delirious, I somehow managed to hit the computer with my hand and knocked it out of the mount. I consider this a freak accident, though, as in several years of riding with Sigma computers this has happened to me exactly once.
My girlfriend needs a computer for her bike and I will almost certainly buy yet another one of these for her...

These are now 8/1/11 on sale at [...].I had it installed at REI while there for some drive train adjustments. On the way home a massive thunderstorm beat down rain on the computer/bike mounted on the back of the car. No leaks, no hiccups and accurate data checked with a GPS. Need i say more? I bought two.

This thing just quit working after a month. Ok well, once in a while it works. Yesterday I rode 10 miles and it recorded 0.04 miles.

Comments about Sigma Sport BC1609 / STS Cadence Bike Computer - Wireless:
Wanted wireless, cadence and a large clear display to train for a century ride on my road bike. This bike computer succeeds well in all three areas. I was impressed with the mounting system. Given the curvey relationship between the crank arm and frame on my bike, there ended up being only one small area on the chain stay where the cadence sensor could be mounted. This mounting configuration resulted in the maximum suggested gap of 12mm, with the sensor at a slight angle to the magnet on the crank arm. Bingo . . not a lick of trouble from the wireless displaying either cadence or speed. The O rings make installation fast and easy; one tie is required for the magnet on the crank arm. I checked the speed and distance against a GPS and the deviation between the two was nominal.
My only two nicks on this unit are the lack of a clear instruction manual and I thought it was a bit pricey considering a small uptick in price brings the Sigma unit into play with a heart monitor (at the cost of smaller display characters due to running 3 lines on the display rather than just 2.)

Comments about Sigma Sport BC1609 / STS Cadence Bike Computer - Wireless:
The setup instructions could be better. For example the instructions say take the bike for a ride or spin the wheel and/or turn the cranks in order to pair the head unit with the sensors. It takes a while for the speed sensor to pair with the head unit. I guess that's ok if you're riding outside, but if you're like me and working on the bike at night, that's quite a bit of front wheel spinning. The next morning, I couldn't figure out why the MPH display was flashing when in the mount. I looked in the manual and didn't see anything helpful. Out of desperation I spun and spun the front wheel for 1/3 of a mile--this after having spun the front wheel enough for the speed to register the night before. Altogether I must have spun the front wheel for at least a half mile or more.
The mount feels a bit cheap and unstable. Moreover, the instructions say to feed the zip ties for a more secure fit, but there's no where for the zip ties to feed through. Also, the adhesive back on the mount makes adjusting the angle of the head on the handle bars a bit difficult.
The case also feels cheap as there is a lip where the top of the unit and the bottom meet.
