Great for trad or sport. Takes a lot of abuse. Great handling and durable sheath. Best rope I have used yet by far.

Comments about Mammut Infinity COATINGfinish superDRY 9.5mm x 60m Dry Rope:
I've mostly used this rope for long alpine routes and love it. Its so light that I didn't feel it fall out of my pack on Longs Peak. So technically I've bought two of these this year :)

Comments about Mammut Infinity COATINGfinish superDRY 9.5mm x 60m Dry Rope:
The first day I got the rope we climbing 12 sport rouites with this rope and the rope shows no wear. Now I have a little over 20 rouites on the rope and looks like it just came out of the bag. The only thing was it will move quickly out of your belay device so make sure you wear gloves on belay. I love it...

Comments about Mammut Infinity COATINGfinish superDRY 9.5mm x 60m Dry Rope:
I got this rope after being impressed by all the good reviews. However my experience was different. About 4 months into using the rope, the outer sheath started to fray down the entire length of the rope.
I know the sheath fraying a bit is normal but this was pretty bad in quite a few places. After going sport climbing only 20-30 times with this rope, the wear seems a little unusual.
I'm thinking it must have been a manufacturing error because the fray traveled down the rope in a continuous, spiraling line, as though there was a weak strand that ran the length of the rope.
Thank god for REI's return policy.

Comments about Mammut Infinity COATINGfinish superDRY 9.5mm x 60m Dry Rope:
This rope has a marvelous hand once broken in. Perfect balance of suppleness and enough stiffness to clip with ease. Impact force is a bit high for trad, but in general it makes as good an all-around rope as you could ask for at 9.5. However, DO NOT forget that you are climbing on a skinny rope! My horror story took place on an overhung roof climb at Rumbling Bald. Following, I cleaned the gear in the roof crack and blew the crux, which left me out in space. Rather than lower and restart the route, I decided to boink up a bit to get back on the wall, despite the fact that I could not see the path of the rope all the way to my belayer. This was admittedly not a great idea. The rest of the climb was uneventful until I got to the belay and my partner showed me the massive core shot!Moral of the story - this is an awesome rope, but don't let its UIAA fall rating or great reviews blind you to the fact that you are on a 9.5 and it will cut a lot easier than old school fatties. And don't boink if you aren't 100% sure that the rope is not running over any edges!

Comments about Mammut Infinity COATINGfinish superDRY 9.5mm x 60m Dry Rope:
Easily and smoothly clips and runs in my atc's. Bright color is great for photos and and use. Teflon coating helps keep it clean. 9.5 mm is just big enough to comfortably fit in my large hands and is nice and light. Performs like a thicker rope with less weight. I've got the 60M and would like to get the 80M as well.

Comments about Mammut Infinity COATINGfinish superDRY 9.5mm x 60m Dry Rope:
I bought this rope because I felt it had good bang for size and buck. It specs out strength and stretch wise with heavier and thicker ropes. So far extremely durable and coating helps keep it clean. Stiff enough for easy clipping, and bright color makes it easy to keep track of and apparent in photos.
My buddies have been pretty impressed and really enjoy the lighter weight.

Comments about Mammut Infinity COATINGfinish superDRY 9.5mm x 60m Dry Rope:
Mammut ropes are famous for their durability and quality; This rope is no exception. The length is perfect for just about any height climb, yet the thin diameter keeps the rope lightweight. The thin diameter also means that it slides very easily through most ATC/belay devices. Nothing is worse than a rope that sticks every 5 seconds on a rappel.
The only real drawback is that it's not a double-color rope, where the rope changes color/design at the midpoint. This rope is marked with very heavy black markings, but I would have preferred a double-color. Still, a very great rope; I would highly recommend it.
