Bought this shoe on sale and was so happy to have found a cheap kids hiking boot. But alas, I got what I paid for. The shoe's leather lacing hole broke on our 3rd day of hiking. All of the leather lacing holes are very thin leather and will not withstand all of the tugging and pulling that laces on boots require. Just a tip to mothers looking for a good deal on hiking boots for kids...spend the extra cash on boots with metal or grommet lacing holes. Don't waste your money on this "LOW" TEC hiking boot! I now question the word "durable" as used by Hi-Tec's advertising. Maybe the company is unaware of the definition of that word. I will inform them of it.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
