Comments about Eagle Creek Pack-It Protech Cube - Medium:

I always have something fragile (often electronics) that doesn't quite fit the available cases on the market. (Sometimes cases are available for whatever it is but then there's no room for accessories or manuals). This unit's padded and semi-rigid -- it's got a little flex but the sides are rigid so you don't have to worry about crush. The smaller version of this is more rigid.

There are 2 padded internal dividers with Velcro tips that are removable, so you can reposition them to customize the 3 interior compartments.

Before this, I've either used those rigid plastic cases you buy at office supply stores (they either crack or the hinges break) or else I've used more flexible little bags that didn't provide sufficient crush protection.

This product's best for putting fragile stuff in checked or carry-on luggage. You could use this for camping but it's better for regular travel. I'd say it's probably so-so for backpacking where you want maximum flexibility to squeeze stuff into nooks and crannies. For car-camping, it's OK but see my comment about water resistance below.

A couple of other comments; these aren't cons but they're worth knowing:
* this container is not waterproof -- put it in a plastic bag if you need waterproof storage. The zipper is definitely not waterproof and I don't know how well the case itself would hold up to prolonged moisture.
* this container has a handle but it's not really for use as a tiny daypack or carrier. There is a sturdy metal ring you can clip a carabiner or sling to but if you want this as a totable, standalone camera case, you'll probably want to put it in something else

See the smaller sized Eagle Creek Protech cube if you don't need this much space -- it's a little more rigid and crush resistant.

I haven't had it long enough to know how well it'll hold up however it looks well-made and hopefully it will stand the test of time.
