Comments about Wallaroo Breton Hat - Women's:
I use the Breton (brown) and the Sydney (seafoam) for all day in the garden, errands, travel - anywhere I'm going to be in the sun. They don't get special treatment and are really holding up, haven't had to wash them yet, but if you look at the Wallaroo website, the hat is described as "hand wash cold" which seems sensible to me. If one is concerned about stains, perhaps some waterproof spray would be a good preventative.
My most common use is in the garden ALL day in the So. Cal. mountain area where protection from sun radiation is really important. I can't say enough about how comfortable it is for me (as is, I don't cinch the tie), my head doesn't seem to get as hot as a variety of hats that I've gotten for the sun, and wonder of wonders, I don't get helmet head hair, I don't know why.
I've also crushed them to a millimeter or so in travel luggage and they come out great. I get compliments all the time.
I actually have recommended this to my friend who enjoys them as much as I do and she bought one for her mother! I honestly have no cons about this product.

Comments about Wallaroo Breton Hat - Women's:
I wear this hat everyday when out and about my errands. I have taken it camping and hiking. It shapes well. The only trouble I have is trying to put up my hair in it. You have to loosen the tie and then it feels tight once hair is up inside.

Comments about Wallaroo Breton Hat - Women's:
Bought this as a spare/alternate hat for a 7 day canoe trip. Didn't notice at first, but there is a small stick-on label that says "Do not wash"
Really? That seems odd. Now I'm concerned about how it will perform after getting wet in the river (not to mention how to to deal with sweat and odor). Will need to dunk it a few times before the trip and see how it hold up. This may be going back to the store. Too bad, because it's really cute and the mix of colors looks great with the typical colors you find in gear pants . I bought it in "brown"... but it's a blend of several. Great style. Just hope I can wash it.
