Comments about CamelBak Flow Meter Hydration Gauge:
This flow meter is a good idea, but it doesn't quite work. I put it on a 100oz (~3L) reservoir and stuffed it into my Transalp for a day hike. It's nice to see how much water you have left, especially when the bladder is stashed in a pack. It showed what I had always suspected: I'm not drinking as much as I think I am.
The only problem is it seems to underestimate flow and how much is left, sometimes very badly. I drank it dry on the hike but it said I had 0.6L left (I filled the bladder and programmed it for 3.0L). It was 90F out, and this was not appreciated.
I filled it to the brim at home and ran it dry, yet the meter was still showing about a half-liter left.
I reset it to 2.5L, 2L and 1L and those, oddly, were spot on. Then I filled with 96oz and it showed 21oz left (!) when empty.
So as long as it's not mostly full, it works. Huh?! What's the point of that? Are people who venture out with a full tank not interested in accuracy?
It's a good idea, but with such spotty performance (underestimating by ~20% on a full tank) I can't recommend it. Camelbak laid an egg with this one. If I can get the thing off again it's going back for a refund.

Comments about CamelBak Flow Meter Hydration Gauge:
I tried this gadget on a recent 12 mile hike on a waterless trail. The device was calibrated for 3 litres. After my first 3 litres was drunk the display showed 1.8 litres remaining(and 1.2 drunk).[...] this thing is worse than useless.
