This pair turned out to be the favorite sandals for my active 7 yr old (and ME). The closed toe design prevents stubbing the toes by falling, and they have straps in all the right areas, long enough to accommodate wider feet or narrower heels, but short enough they don't hang out & rub one another. They also look very handsome and have great traction. We took them from sandy play structure to muddy mountain hiking. These are practically very airy, comfortable summer sneakers.

I bought these for my 4-year old girl for a trip to Thailand. She adores hiking with us and is capable of hiking 10 Km going up and down hills on a day. This time there were no blisters and she never complained of being tired of walking. These sandals offered perfect support and traction for rocky terrain and also protected her feet from getting scratched. She also used these for boat trips and got them wet several times. If I were to look hard for an undesirable trait, I would say these could dry faster, but still they were just fine!
