With a 30 in. inseam, the men's REI Sahara Convertible pants with No-Sit Zips feature an innovative new design that makes converting from pants to shorts and back again easier than ever before!
- Side zippers run the full length of the lower legs; together with thigh zippers they allow quick conversions without requiring wearer to sit down
- They also preclude the need to slip lower legs sections over messy boots when converting from pants to shorts along a muddy trail
- Color-coded thigh zippers help you easily tell the right leg from the left leg when converting back to pants
- Lightweight nylon fabric dries quickly, resists pilling and is easy to pack away in a backpack
- With a UPF 50+ rating, fabric provides excellent protection against harmful ultraviolet rays
- Fabric is treated with a Durable Water Repellent finish to repel moisture and stains
- Side cargo pockets offer ample space for trail items; also includes front hand pockets, zip coin/security pocket, 1 rear zippered pocket and 1 rear rip-and-stick pocket
- Mesh pockets bags enhance ventilation and allow water to drain

I wear these pants everyday. I would wear them to work if it were allowed. They are comfortable and the best all-purpose pant for the coastal climate of California. I hope REI never changes the design too much because I need a go-to pant forever.

Best feature is No Sit Zips. Pockets are good.Belt is a little lacking but did not buy them for that. Did drop a few items from the front pockets while sitting/squating around camp. Just moved those items to the side pocket and no problem. Better fit and wear than my bsa switchbacks. Wore them five straight days on the Foothills Trail. Very satisfied.

I've had this version of REI's convertible hiking pants for a while now, and they're just as good as the previous pair I've had for over 5 years. It seems like a lot of people complain about them vs. older versions, but I hike almost every weekend throughout Colorado and have had no issues. The great thing about REI is that if you do have problems, you can always return them. I definitely recommend these pants.

My husband is a double amputee and these pants are and have been what he now wears on a daily basis. They have the long side zip and detachable features which were great for rehab and prostethic fittings. The long side zip makes it possible for him to adjust his legs as needed during the day quickly and descreatly. I wish they came in more color selections and a heavier fabric for winter.

I wore these almost everyday during two months I spent in Cambodia, everyday while working at a plant nursery for 4 months, and almost everyday during a month of backpacking in New Zealand. The only wear they have sustained is a small tear in the back which has not grown despite my laziness in fixing it. They are light, breathe well in hot weather, convert fairly easily, and mine fit great.
The material feels like it could tear easily, but it has not been a problem for me despite a lot of hard use. Great pants!
