The Highgear Adventure Tool is a complete piece of junk. Worked great out of the package. The buttons and features were all easily accesible and seemingly reliable. I took it out for its first field test on a rainy Saturday and it was ruined just from the rain that landed on it has it hung from my shoulder strap for 4 hours. First the clock display went out, probably within 2 hours in the rain. Then the LED light became permanently on as we set up camp after the rain had stopped. I'm sure this drained the battery overnight, becasue the next morning it was completely dead. The compass and whistle survived the rain, but anything electronic failed miserably. I was very dissapointed becasue it's not like I went swimming with it. I just went for a hike in the rain and this thing didn't even last 2 hours. Don't waste your money.

The Adventure Tool is a complete waste of money. Cheap. Poor instructions. The button to change the time can be accidently touched at any time - even in your pocket. Put it in your pocket at 8:00 am and five minutes later----it's 12:30! I also purchsed a digital compass from Highgear at my local Scout Shop and was equally disappointed in the quality, instructions and overall product. The battery was dead - right out of the box. Returned it and will never buy the brand again. I would never purchase a Highgear product and seriously recommend REI to drop the brand completely. Worthless!
