Comments about Brunton Solaris 6 Foldable Solar Array - '09 Overstock:
The produce is fairly well design with nice durable solar cells. The cable included can get a bit of update, a USB cable would be nice.
The power output of this product is very poor. I own a Solarport 4.4 previously and fond it to have reasonable power output, thus, I got this one thinking I can gain a bit more power while having a flexible package would be nice. However, the amount of power the cell put out is simply horrible.
Under my simple test, the cell will put out at:
low end: 4.4V at 264mA - 1.17W
Max power point: 8.61V at 179mA - 1.62W
high end: 12.13V at 107mA - 1.3W
This is way lower than the advertised rating of 6W.
The low current output at 12V range make it fairly useless in topping up car/boat batteries.

Like the solor charger says it does charge my cell phone from a completly dead battery to fully charged in about 2-3 hrs. the only down side is that it doesnt charge anything elsa its almost useless i tryed to charge my mp3 player- PSP and this was on a fully sunny day not a cloud in the sky temp out side was in the high 90's and it could not produce even a trickle charge for my PSP i have tryed many other electronics and it will not charge anything besides my cell phone it just doesnt have enough power to convert.

Simple rugged lightweight solar panel that works. In reference to the other reviewer, it's true that it doesn't include a USB port, but it doesn't advertise that it does either. Instead it provides a simple standard shaped plug so that with the right cable you can plug in anything you want. If you're using this product anywhere not in proximity to a major electronics store in the US selling a variety of overpriced special purpose adapters, this type of plug is much more useful.

This product was too large and the power hook ups were outdated. The newer chargers are much smaller and have a USB and mini USB hook up. I returned the product.
