The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Grundig Mini 400 Radio:
I love things which take batteries (maybe it's a guy thing), and I've had good luck with Grundig radios so I picked-up this one because it was small and cheap.
Tuning/volume are dials on the side. Other controls are buttons. There's a lock so it won't turn on in your bag and kill the batteries. Setting the alarm is failsafe as long as you set the volume.
I use it in the tent and at the picnic table. The amp is good enough. I'm happy it runs on 2 aaa cells. Only complaint is it comes with a pouch and earbuds, but they don't fit in there. Not really a problem, I just leave them at home.

Comments about Grundig Mini 400 Radio:
This is a great radio. For its small size it has very good sound and volume. The best feature is the digital readout. For decades I have HATED analog radio dials with all the guesswork they require. I can change bands and get on station in seconds rather than minutes.
I liked it so much I went back to the store and bought two more.

Comments about Grundig Mini 400 Radio:
On the Plus size the Grundig has a good feel, the rubberized case makes it non-slip, the sound is good and the display is easy to read. But here is the big Minus - If you tune to AM and dial a Station, then flip to FM and dial a station, the AM station is now lost and you will have to search it out the next time you flip back to AM. What a nuisance. If this radio could remember the last station played on each of its four bands this radio would be a treasure.

Comments about Grundig Mini 400 Radio:
This small radio allowed us to check up on the weather forecast during our spring BWCAW trip. The reception was ok, but significantly improved when you held onto the top of the antenna. That works great for a 5 minute listen, but maybe not so well if you wanted to catch a baseball game. Anyway, knowing which weather was coming our way was worth the small price of this radio.

Comments about Grundig Mini 400 Radio:
I had a another Grundig (digital traveler G8) that I loved until a friend put the batteries in wrong - mixed them and upside down! Way bummed because I LOVED the larger unit that ran off of AA - I have rechargeable AA's. I have some headlamps that use AAA and I decided to replace Grundig but wanted to also invest in AAA rechargeables. So I did and decided the smaller Grundig available at REI would work well. It is just doesn't, and I have invested in about a dozen AAA and charger which set me back. Should have spend the dough on the better radio and waited for the AAA investment later.Have thought of returning it, but it is only a [$] radio and now the antenna is bent.

Comments about Grundig Mini 400 Radio:
I really can't believe the positive reviews on this radio. If you think you are going to strap this to your belt and listen to the radio, good luck. 1) It comes with a belt case which has not left a hole for the headphones. So you can't close the flap to secure the radio the way it was meant to fold. You can, however, twist the flap around the headphones and fasten it, but after doing this once or twice, the flap has already worn out on the edge where you had to twist it around the headphone jack. Really bad design or headphone jack placement.2) the LOCK does NOT lock the tune or volume controls. Unfortunately, the controls are on the side and will rub against the inner side of the case. the controls are not buttons but dials. Insanely annoying. There is no other way to attach this radio to your body because there is no buckle hook on the back. Again, if you just leave it out of the case and put it in your pocket or side pocket of your pack, it will eventually rub one of the controls. The LOCK button only locks the power button, not the tuning and volume controls. This, at least to me, really diminishes its usefulness.3) The station will literally crawl up and down all by itself. if you put it on 103.7, if will fluctuate between 103.4 and 104.0. You can watch it change the station on the display, slowly. If you have a strong, local signal, its not that big of a deal. But if you are listening to AM and have a weaker signal, a little variation causes a lot of static, and there have been countless times, on FM and AM, i have had to change the station BACK to where I had originally put it. This has nothing to do with the dials, the stations just float around for no reason. If you just want to use this as a small, external speaker radio that is stationary when listening to, that is pretty much all this radio is good for. Really regret spending [$] for this.

Comments about Grundig Mini 400 Radio:
Great little radio perfect for numerous uses. We take it to ballgames, hiking, or being with family. Love the rubbish cover, digital tuning, and small size. Throw it in a backpack and see how many times you use it.

Comments about Grundig Mini 400 Radio:
Much better than the previous model (thinner, lighter, AAA batteries, better tuning, alarm, clock) at the same price. Design pilfered from a Cupertino, CA fruit grower. Pulled in both AM and FM stations from a significant distance. Speaker's loud enough for in-tent or at-picnic bench use. Would be great at a ballgame too. Lock button is a nice feature. I like it to bring in a little bit of civilization into the back country. The one thing left to make it perfect: A line-in input for the digital music player from that same fruit grower. Get on it, Grundig!
