Comments about Salomon Snowscape Tour Cross-Country Poles:

I purchased these poles at the end of year on special for [$], so maybe this is a case of you get what you pay for.Long story short, I needed to cut a few inches off to get them to accommodate my 5'7" frame. Boil water, pop off the handles, use a small pipe cutter to trip off 2 or so inches. Well surprise surprise, the "aluminum" of these poles is a very thin veneer (Far less than aluminum foil thickness) over a plastic, or perhaps fiberglas pole. Going to be interesting to see if these hold up. I hope the first twisting push isnt followed by a snap. Shame on Salomon and REI for calling these aluminum. They are not.
