The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Osprey Kode 30 Ski Pack:
I bought this pack, took it home, transferred all my backcountry junk to it, strapped my snowboard on, and realized it was not going to cut the mustard. It has a lot going for it, but it was like they never tried to strap a snowboard on it before finalizing the design.
First let me say it is a beautiful pack and the assembly is very nicely done. Good sewing, a very interesting design, and advanced construction. There are pockets galore, a nicely contoured and textured back panel, a beautifully sculpted fiberglass frame rod, and overall a stunning pack.
The materials seem a bit light however. All the webbing is only 3/4" instead of full inch, and the plastic buckles are pretty anemic and chintzy. The tiny plastic buckles may have been ok, but they are sewn in very poor locations. The lower strap that would support the bottom of your snowboard has it's buckle at the exact point where it wraps around the board's edge, so it is constantly side loaded. They should have positioned the buckle at the middle of the board like most packs. The strap holding the upper end of the board has a complicated z-pull system that immediately jams against a fabric guide the webbing feeds through. Instead of snapping the strap around the board and snugging it down like on most packs, you need to use two hands to open a cam lock, hold some fabric out of the way, pull the loose end of the webbing, feed it carefully, etc, and finally close the cam lock again. Give me a break. I think the system was designed with a set-once-and-you-are-done approach, which is fine if you never take anything out of your pack, or never put something in your pack. However, every jacket or other item will change the volume of the pack and necessitate adjusting the straps again. I also remove my board and strap my snowshoes and poles on the pack for the ride back down, and they have a totally different dimension from my board and so I would have to readjust everything each time.
There are a million pockets which is nice. They all serve very obvious and useful purposes. There are thoughtful sleeves inside to hold you avalanche probe, shovel handle, etc. A key/wallet pocket in the back panel. A goggle pocket up top. Two nice hip belt pockets. A hydration panel, a "wet" pocket for the probe and shovel plus a large "dry" back panel compartment for clothes. You get the idea.
If they had used 1 inch webbing throughout and made the straps easier to cinch down, this could have been a super pack. As it stands, it's going back to the store. Skiers may have better luck. Some of the issues seem specific to the odd execution in the snowboard carry configuration.

Comments about Osprey Kode 30 Ski Pack:
I just returned this pack after days of consideration. Cool factor is pretty high but the user friendliness of this pack is very questionable. You better not want to get anything out of this pack very quickly unless you are in a hurry to get your goggles. You have to unbuckle the load lifters to get into the back panel, 2 other buckles to fully open you avy saftey gear pocket...you best practice getting to your saftey gear before heading out! On a positive note you could carry almost anything with this pack; Skis, snowboard, shoes, ice tools, i guess you could use the helmet carry for a rope if needed... I just could not get comfortable getting into everything and loading externaly was not a simple task at all. Seems like all of these pack manufacturers come so close to getting it but just miss the mark for me!

Comments about Osprey Kode 30 Ski Pack:
The question everyone would be asking is how this pack compares to the Switch 26 that it replaces.
The positives- pack now has load lifters that make it a better carry than the old pack. The ski carry system is a bit more bombproof, although the old was no slouch either. Pack now has a dedicated goggle pocket.
The negatives: (1) No helmet compartment anymore; there is a helmet carry mesh contraption, but it is fiddly to use and snow will get in your helmet in bad weather. Not a big deal for touring, as you will be wearing your helmet in bad weather, but for resort skiing with Switch 26, you could walk from your car to the lodge in our hat and have your helmet nice and dry. (2) The bottom compression strap doubles as a ski carry, so you cannot compress the pack tight enough if your load is very light. Again a minus for resort skiing, Switch 26 compressed to a totally flat shape. (3) The hipbelt pocket does not have the additional zippered little compartment anymore. That was perfect for car keys (this is cost-cutting by Osprey, regrettable). (4) The access is now much more fiddly-yu need to unbuckle compression straps to get to the dry compartment. and you need to unbuckle the ski carry to get to the avy tools. First affects convenience, second affects safety. Both are not good.

Comments about Osprey Kode 30 Ski Pack:
Having already owned two other Osprey packs, I chose to drop just shy of [$] cdn on the Kode 30 yesterday. In a couple of words: totally freaking lame. The shovel handle from my G3 Avitech does not even come close to fitting in the handle pocket; my G3, 230cm probe would fit nicely into the probe pocket if I cut five inches off the folded probe. Shame on Osprey!

Comments about Osprey Kode 30 Ski Pack:
This pack is great. The suspension is very comfortable with ski or snoboard strapped on. The main pocket access is easy to get to when fully loaded. Their are two separate pockets one for all your avy gear and a dry compartment for extra stuff. The pack is very durable and water proof

Comments about Osprey Kode 30 Ski Pack:
I love the idea of this packs design. However the issues the other reviews stated are all valid and a concern for myself as well. It is great for light load day trips, but I found when its time to ski with my shovel, probe, skins, and trekkers there is little room for lunch. I am unsure if I will keep it or return it- LOVE the idea, but all the points made in the other reviews are leaving me unsure because I have found the same problems.
I can't decide if I would recommend it or not.

Comments about Osprey Kode 30 Ski Pack:
I have to disagree with the complaints in some of the other reviews about ease of access. Yes, you have to unclip buckles to get to innermost compartment, but that's hardly a major inconvenience. Access to avy gear is very straightforward. The ski carry set up is easy to use and versatile, without all the excess straps that flopped around on my old pack. I love the pockets on the waistband...they are spacious enough for a GPS, cell phone, or snacks. I'm amazed at how much more this pack holds than my old one, even though it doesn't appear that much bigger. This is an excellent side-country pack!
