Comments about Kershaw Vapor Knife - '09 Overstock:
I had this knife for a couple of years, but have since misplaced it. I do miss it and wish I could find it because it was a great knife.
The quality was great for its price and it never let me down. I wouldn't recommend it for survival situations because it wouldn't live up to the different types of abuse (sideways torquing, cutting large branches, etc). However, it is a great weight (light enough to carry around, heavy enough to be able to feel it in your hands) for backpacking and camping.

Comments about Kershaw Vapor Knife - '09 Overstock:
This knife was an Internet order. I barely got this knife out of the box before the weight struck me. It was oddly heavy and I have tactical knives twice the size that weigh less. All the weight is in the handle and the blade is an after-thought. This ruins the balance.
Also, the belt clip is attached at the hinge. This makes for some fumbling, rather spastic really, while attempting to smoothly open the knife.
I took it out of the box; tried it a couple of times; wiped off any smudges; reboxed it and set it aside to return.
This is not a knife for me.

I have had mine for about 4 years at this point. Mine has a dark powder coat finish, this may effect the feel of the finish texture, I wouldn't know I have never held the silver finished version, but the knurling on the handle is full width, coarse, gripy and right ware you need it. The knife has a vary solid feel to it, having used many all metal laminate style knives I have never found one I like the feel of more, I have never feelt like I might break/bend or lose my grip on this knife.
I mostly use mine for stage work and in the shop, but it dose come exploring, hiking, and camping with me as well. It can be a little difficult to learn how to open this knife one handed compared to learning to flick other knives but once you figure out the right grip it is extremely easy to open. Cleaning can be difficult, but it seldom needs maintenance. So as a testament to the durability of the finish and handle on these I routinely use the end of mine to open bottles of beer and only have a few minor scratches. One cool thing about the handle styling is you can use several of the holes in the handle as a wire strippers, insert wire, close blade, rotate knife or wire. Use the holes you can see daylight threw with the blade closed.

I carry this knife with me almost everywhere I go, and use it nearly every day. It is light enough to not weigh down my pants, but durable and strong enough to cut through a wide variety of things. I carry it in my back pocket and can have it out and open in a split second. It's light weight and versatility make it most useful for every day household use and backpacking.

Comments about Kershaw Vapor Knife - '09 Overstock:
Due to poor design it is almost impossible to open the knife with one hand. Since I need to us it while kayaking I need to operate it with one hand. I occasionally encounter fishing line across the streams I kayak and I need to get my knife open quickly.
