The Cannondale Morphis Shell jacket morphs into a vest so you're prepared to ride in a variety of cool weather conditions.

  • Pack Light 1 is an ultra-thin single layer polyester fabric that repels wind and light rain
  • When the weather heats up, just pull the sleeves off, converting jacket into a vest; sleeves detach as 1 piece and can be stowed in zippered rear pocket
  • Magnetic closures on vest make sleeve removal easy while on or off the bike
  • Polyester mesh in the rear panel provides ventilation
  • Brushed polyester tricot collar lining has a soft, flannellike feel that traps additional warmth and helps manage moisture for comfort
  • Raglan sleeves give excellent freedom of movement

I had an earlier Canondale jacket that I was very happy with. When I needed a new jacket the Morphis appealed to me as a good do it all cycling jacket for touring and commuting. The jacket is well made and the removeable sleeves make it very versatile. After using the jacket for a while there were three major short comings I had with the jacket. The tail is only waist length and doesn't fully cover one's behind for rain riding. The sleeves are too short leaving your wrists exposed when riding. The zipper pulls are very small and impossible to use with long finger gloves. Overall I was disappointed in this jacket and will not be buying another Canondale product in the future.

    I was unusually delighted with this thing. It's basically a highly visible and lightweight windbreaker, ideal for cycling because the shoulders and sleeves come off quickly and in one piece, easy to stash when you or weather heats up. The arms/back are held on with magnetic snaps, which look like they'd want to separate too easily, but so far not a problem. The magnets in fact add to the ease of taking off and putting on the sleeves. I feel safe and cool in this jacket.
